  • Solid value for money, yet more RAM than a base MacBook Pro
This mini PC comes in fairly minimalist packaging—you get a power adapter, a VESA mounting bracket, and an HDMI cable that (surprisingly) supports the full 95Hz refresh rate of my Pixio display. Oddly enough, there are stickers on the PC that recommend going through setup before connecting it to the internet to speed up the process. Normally, I connect the PC to WiFi or Ethernet during the setup, but this time I followed the advice on the stickers, and the setup was very quick. I was up and running at the desktop before I knew it. Pros: - for the low price, this machine does anything you need for basic daily computing, including: 4K HDR YouTube, high refresh rate displays (60Hz is archaic even for basic day-to-day usage), and of course your basic suite of applications—messaging, email, office applications, browsing the web. - I was even able to fire up Half-Life 2 (yes I know it's not a demanding game in 2024, but this is a Celeron we're talking about) and play around 30-40fps at the default video settings. Tweaking it further can achieve 60fps, but impressive for the money, nonetheless. - It's tiny! It fits anywhere on your desk—or under it - It has a detachable base with an upgradeable M.2 SSD! - Decent I/O, including 4 USB-A ports, two HDMI ports, Ethernet, and a headphone jack - Built-in Bluetooth, so wireless peripherals can make for a super clean desk setup Cons: - Obviously since it's so tiny, the fan noise gets pretty loud under load. Nothing crazy, but something to consider if you're not wearing headphones - Not a gaming machine! Celeron integrated graphics might run Half-Life 2, but basically any smart toaster can as well. Do not expect this to play any AAA titles. - Yes, you can probably get a more powerful used PC for similar money with an actual graphics card, but in the landscape of brand new cheap PCs, this is not bad Overall, it's a decent little PC, and while it comes with Windows 11 (suitable for most people), it can probably be even better with a lightweight Linux-based system, if not a little server! Small form factor, decent I/O, quick setup, Windows 11 support, and even dual display output makes it a bargain. ... show more

  • Great little computer!
The media could not be loaded. If you're looking for an affordable and compact PC, this one is a gem. It’s not just budget-friendly but also comes packed with essential features, including an extra removeable expansion bay for adding an extra SSD. I like how this PC does it. Instead of having an empty spot inside the PC, it has a separate compartment that you can remove if you aren't using it. I'm using it right now, because I'm using this as a media server running Jellyfin. I need as much space as possible. Runs Jellyfin perfectly btw. I got the 12gb ram / 256gb SSD version. What surprised me most is how much you get for the price. My top highlights are the compact size, fast performance, dual 4K HDMI ports, and plenty of USB ports. The cool LED lighting is a nice touch too! Here’s a quick list of what I like: Nice, simple design with LED lighting Super compact design, with a mounting plate to attach it to vesa mounts Fast SSD storage for quick loading and streaming Dual HDMI 4K ports for a home theater setup Expandable storage—a must-have feature! Four USB ports, 2 2.0 ports and 2 3.0 ports. Good enough for what I'm using this for. Fast Wi-Fi and Gigabit Ethernet The expansion bay is removable, making the PC even slimmer if you don’t need the extra drive. But if you do, you can add a large SSD with ease. Overall, this PC is perfect for anyone needing a compact, expandable system that won’t break the bank. I like it a lot. Highly recommended! ... show more

  • A mini with expansion room
It's just enough for daily use for office suite stuff and basic picture editing. There are enough ports to handle two displays and several USB devices. The case has room to add more storage. It's small enough (and can be mounted on the back of a monitor) so that it's not a burden on desktop space. -- Does the job and serves the need. ... show more

  • Great Little Win 11 PC
I bought this mini Win 11 PC to replace a 20 year old HP Z600 Win 10 PC, which was at the time a capable engineering workstation. For the price, I figured it was worth a try to reduce the power usage and fan bearing noise of the Z600. And I was right! This tiny PC was super easy to run up as a replacement - I just saved my files from the old machine and copied them to the new one, reinstalled the few apps I have been using, like Outlook and a few others, and it just worked - it is faster and quieter than the old one, and I am super happy with it. For peripherals (apart from the usual USB mouse, keyboard and HDMI monitor) I have a Documate document camera and a Logitec video camera, and they both came up and worked the first time. For audio I use an RME USB audio interface, not the audio jack that is built into the Mini PC - for this reason I can't comment on the performance of the built-in audio - if that is important to you then you should test it yourself. There are few instructions provided with the Mini PC, which is fine since you don't need any - that's a plus. There is a comment that you should not immediately connect it to a network, because then Windows will start doing its auto-update process, which can "take a lot of time". I myself just hooked up the network and let it do its thing before even attempting to use it. I thought perhaps in retrospect it may be that as we all know, Windows updates often break things, so they'd want you to try it first as they tested it, then if Windows broke something you could trace it to that update, perhaps a useful troubleshooting tip, FWIW. In conclusion, as someone who has been running PCs since their inception, I can say that my experience with this tiny inexpensive machine was as good or better than any PC I've used - very impressive. I have not made comparisons with other PCs of this class, I just sort of lucked out with this one, but honestly I don't know how such a thing could be much better at this price point. Modulo Microsoft Windows11-isms ;- ) ... show more
