  • Great for re-amping/resampling!
I got this for a slightly unusual purpose in my home studio: re-amping and resampling. I've been doing that a lot lately, writing and recording music in the Ambient and Krautrock realms. After about four hours in the studio with this tiny little plastic amp, I'm ready to declare that it has already improved a couple of tracks that were nearly ready for mixing, but just missing...something. Adding more instruments wasn't the answer, so I started re-amping existing tracks through a few high end guitar amps a few weeks ago, and loved the results. It dawned on me that rather than using a $2000 amp, though, maybe I should use a tiny low wattage affair and really "lo-fi" some synth tracks to the point of making them sound like an old '70s car dashboard speaker. Enter the tiny plastic Pogolab Mini Guitar Amp. This is PERFECT for what I'm wanting to do. Yes, it's tiny, plastic, underpowered, etc. But it sounds fantastic when miked up and re-recorded, with everything I tried from an SM-57 to a Neumann TLM 49. And its input plays nice with stomp boxes and rack-mount outboard gear. It sounds serviceable on its own as just a BT speaker as well. The lack of a pairing button confused me at first, but it seems to always be in "pairing" mode until something grabs onto it. It connected to my iPhone perfectly. I played a few Can and Tangerine Dream tracks through it, and it sounded fine for what it is, though not stellar. The one thing I haven't done is actually use it for a guitar amp, LOL. I'll get around to it though! Recommended. ... show more

  • It’s Small, but WOW!
The media could not be loaded. After playing with/on/thru this amp, I asked my husband what he would rate it: He gave it 4 Stars. Here’s what he wrote: “When I opened the box and found this mini amplifier, I was prepared to be disappointed. Quite the contrary. This is a versatile, mini amp that packs a punch. Lots of positive features; (1) it's powered by rechargeable batteries. NO power chord required. The unit comes with a USB-A to USB-C charging cable and it will work for about 3 hours on a full charge. (2) Bluetooth connectivity; you can connect to the device via Bluetooth, allowing you to stream music to the device for practice or entertainment purposes. I connected to the device from my laptop to practice songs. (3) Headphone connectivity - you can practice without bothering anyone by using the headphone jack. Very convenient for late night play, or sleeping children. I played through the amp using a Fender Strat, a Tele and a Gibson Les Paul. The amp responded best to the Tele, using stock Fender single-coil pickups. The humbuckers on the Les Paul sounded muddy and harshly distorted. The Strat was fine, but a little tinny. The volume on the amp is more than adequate, but the Gain and Tone features of the amp don't add much value. Don't expect any crunchy distortion out of this device. Frankly, you're asking too much. Great little device to add to your kit. Perfect for portable practice on the road, in a hotel, or a late-night session when ‘quiet’ is a requirement. “ Dude! Come on! The price, the size, the Bluetooth, the ability to use it as a speaker (travelling) AND you can wear headphones so the rest of the house/neighborhood doesn’t need to hear you play the same thing over, and over, and over again…. ?!? I gave it 5 Stars. Rhythm might be good in some forms, but when practicing the guitar… 😉 ... show more

  • Its got the powah
This POGOLAB 10-watt mini guitar amp sounds pretty decent for its size. It has great volume and a gain control that gives you some clean distortion. There is no buzzing sound coming from it like some cheaper models have. It has an old-fashioned look to it that I dig. I love the fact that you can charge it up and go. It lasts a long time on one charge but it all depends on how loud you play it before needing a recharge. I use this also to play music from my cell phone on at my desk. I love this amp. ... show more

  • A cool little amp with a big sound!
I am so happy to have found this awesome little amp. I'm an electronic music composer that writes scores, so I experiment with sound design everyday. My sound is atmospheric and ambient electronic music, so always looking for unique ways to expand on my sound. Most of my gear is analog so when i happed across this, thought it looked really cool. I love that it isn't very big but that it has an amazing amount of power for being the size that it is. The drive sounds amazing on this and causes this to be worth its weight in gold. They could easily charge more than double the price for this. The knobs feel great and the sound is great. Highly recommended! ... show more

  • Excellent Portable Small Guitar Amplifier for Practice and Tuning
I wanted a small guitar amplifier to practice with my band mates. I was surprised with the sound of this mini guitar amp. For such a small amp, it still good tone and a nice volume level. It has a clean setting and a cool drive setting - both are great. I love that it is rechargeable and portable. It also does a great job amplifying an electric guitar. It has a Bluetooth function that can be used to play music from your mobile devices. It comes with instructions and a USB A to USB C charging cable. This is a very cool and versatile practice amp for the electric guitar. I love the tone of this mini amp. I highly recommend this cool small guitar amplifier. ... show more

  • Great Clean Tone, Better with Pedals 🎸
The media could not be loaded. As an experienced guitarist, I think this 10W mini guitar amp is a solid choice for $30. The clean tone is great—raw and uncompressed, with very low feedback. The distortion tone is more of a bluesy overdrive, not suited for heavy metal. It's lightweight and looks nice, plus it has Bluetooth connectivity. — I attached a video demonstrating the clean tone, but I used a multi-effect pedal with reverb and chorus to make it more pleasant. The regular clean tone is a bit plain, so pedals can help; I’m sure that pedals would also help improve the distortion tone. Overall, it's a basic amp that’s good for the price. Highly recommended for beginners or as a practice amp! ... show more
