Loud, loud....loud, but worked and kept kids entertained. I have no complaints abouts the mechanics. We even dropped hot wheel cars in there, some with edges the claw would catch on, and it grabbed them. It's light, cheap, plastic, and it's going to break probably sooner rather than later, but it'll probably outlast a kids interest in grabbing little thing with a noisy plastic claw. My son enjoyed it for a few weeks, and I was glad when he moved onto another toy. I feel like I got my money's worth of enjoyment out of it. I'd probably be fun to set up at a party, maybe for teens, with a few nicer party favors in it (like for a girls sweet 16- put earrings in there, give the girls a chance to grab a pair) or like we did with the hot wheels, it kept the boys focused on something other than a video game. I think it eventually stopped working, about 2 months later, but I'm not sure if that was because it broke or because the boys did something to it. I've had no desire to repair it. ... show more

    • Purchased 5 this past Christmas. They all work.
This was my go-to gift this year for exchanges and family. I ended up purchasing 5 total. I was initially hesitant after reading the reviews about alot of them being dysfunctional, but for 40 bucks I said, why not. I gave the first one to my wife before christmas so she could be the test dummy. Its a little bit cumbersome to get the packaging off of the crane, but because I read the reviews, we were extra careful not to beat it around trying to set it up. After we got the batteries in and put the first coin in, it was a blast! I wish you could turn the music off/down but kids love it. The motor is not strong enough to pick up bigger/heavier (not even that big) candies but it is forced portion control! My wife took hers to school to let her students play when they do review games for reward. The other ones we gave out as gifts were just as good. I gave the same warning about them potentially being fragile, and so far no problems. It is a kids toy. It does feel fairly cheep, but it is fun, addictive and I would say worth every penny. ... show more

Bought this for my nephew. He loves it. It works accurately enough. Do not fill too high, otherwise the claw does not work. The sound is so loud my sister almost killed me for buying it. But just unscrew the bottom and cut the little blue wire!!!! Super easy! Only took like 5 min to take apart and put back together!!! No sound! ... show more

    • Broken before it was even opened...LISTEN TO REVIEWS!!
When I received this product, it looked like the box was already opened. To my surprise, I opened the box with my hands as the tape on the box was already partially removed and the toy was cracked all down the side near the controls. I did spend a minute looking over the item as it is VERY VERY cheaply made. Charged 19.95 for a gift that should be at a dollar tree because it is that cheaply made. Didn't waste my time to get batteries and try it as it was junk. It is part of a Christmas present so I need it SO I returned it and asked that a new one be sent back out. I bought it for 19.95 so I thought 20 bucks to make the Christmas gift worth it I will get a new one that is NOT opened. I received an email to let me know that instead of sending a new one they gave me my money back. Not thinking about it I was like whatever I will just buy a new one. The price has jumped to 35 bucks! I was so mad as it is not even worth the 20 bucks. I found out that Amazon can only refund money for other sellers. You get new products only if it is sold and shipped by Amazon.     • Horizontal Joystick Stopped Working After A Week
We liked that the claw has a nice firm grip on the items it grabs. Some example items we placed within were: medium sized bouncy balls, tiny toy cars, small toy capsules, and surprise eggs. The most difficult item to grab were the eggs. The sound is super loud and will get annoying within the first 30 minutes of usage. It would have been nice to at least have a switch for low and loud volume options like most kids' toys have nowadays since I do think the music adds to the experience. Disconnecting the audio wires would just cheapen the machine further. Everything was fine until the horizontal joystick just stopped working. My daughter and I are good when it comes to caring for electronics so I'm sure we did not break anything from mistreating the thing. It just stopped working. I opened the bottom up to check if something came loose, but it was all fine internally as well. Something must have just given out on the board. I saw this to be a common occurrence in other reviews. For the price, it might be worth it compared to other claw machines, but only if it works for a while. I wouldn't recommend this claw machine to anyone until they improve the quality of their machines. ... show more

    • Great item for children and novelty for adults
Awesome product! Got this for my 6 year old who is always wanting to spend his money on vending machine toys and games. It is a small machine for sure. Easily will fit on a desk and still have space for you to work around but it was a good price. It does well picking up lighter items and candies. Heavy candy does not stay in the claw. The joy sticks are small but the children use them easily enough. It is slightly cumbersome for an adult but not impossible. The outer part is plastic, not glass and seems pretty secure. It's had a couple tumbles but no cracks or anything in the plastic. We don't use the coin feature much. You can hold the same coin and get the machine to start without pushing it all the way through the slot if you are careful, and that is usually what my son does to play. If you hold it too haphazardly while transporting, the claw can get tied up over the belts on top and need small fingers to adjust, or some patience turning the machine upside down and tilting it to get it free. These are minor nuisances and do not much effect the children's enjoyment from playing. I'm really glad I bought this. It's really been fun for the kids and the neighbors who come over to play. ... show more
