This is sort of gel, sort of frizz control. It smells good & goes onto my frizzy, wavy hair pretty well. Easy to comb through with fingers or a comb. You can use it on damp or dry hair, too. I can just air dry (who wants to blow dry in a heat wave?) then when I comb it later, it comes out soft & wavy. It’s a good product. ... show more

It smells nice but even after squooshing out the crunch, it made my hair knotted and it felt extra dry. I ended up giving it away after 2 uses. I have found something that works better for my 3a hair texture, with flax seed in it.

    • Great for my low porosity hair

I like that it's made from great ingredients. I was looking for something that had a humectant (e.g., honey) and a mixture to moisturize my hair. I did initially smell the ginger scent. For me, it was practically gone after 30 minutes. The only way to smell it then was to put the hair right up against my nose, and I could barely smell it. The smell was initially strong in that I think I could smell it about an arm's reach away. I used a lot of the product because I have a lot of hair. I also did not mind the smell, but I'm not ginger adverse. This significantly helped moisturize my hair. It even lasted into the next day, and my hair (like always) had very low porosity. On a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being none and 10 being supreme, the hold is about a 5 (moderated by the amount). It works much better than other similar products I've used. I think the only two products to do better are an AXE hair paste (9; leaves hair hard), and a Jamaican Castor Oil Strong Hold Gel by Shea Moisture (variable but usually 6). If you look at those products, the contents practically resist movement inside the container when shaking (lol). Overall, this product is very good. Left my hair feeling soft and shiny, and a hold just good enough to allow touching without moving in a light breeze. I will it buy again. ... show more

Very good product. Holds the curls on my active 10 year old boy after a rough day of play at school. Not too crunchy, but just the right amount of hold on the hair. Not a big fan of the smell but I do like that it holds the curls in place for a significant amount of time.

    • Sensitive to fragrances?

The problem I had with this product is it had a pretty intense fragrance that I couldn't handle. I think it was a ginger. It seemed to have pretty natural ingredients and the price was good... But the fragrance was off putting to me.

I’m absolutely in love with this product, after trying so many different ones and more expensive with no results, I found this styling lotion that brings my natural curls back to life, leaving my hair soft with no buildups, when hair is still wet it will be a little hard but once it’s dried it will disappear if you just shake your hair it with your hands a little. ... show more
