  • Amazing suction
I have an expensive Miele canister vacuum. After using that for seven years (it is still going strong), however, I needed something lighter for stairs, quick cleaning, and in-between deep cleaning. I was deciding between the Miele Triflex HX2 Pro and a Dyson cordless. Because I have had good experience with my canister Miele, I stuck with the brand. Glad I did. This thing is very well made and you can “feel” that when you assemble it - it clicks together easily, securely, and in only one way. It has strong suction (I cannot believe what it pulled out of my stairs and I work hard to keep my home clean), easy to empty, cool design with the option to place the motor unit low or high (it stands on its own with low orientation; you can reach far under beds and furniture with the high orientation), and overall features. A couple downsides: 1) battery does not last long, but you get two and honestly after two batteries’ worth of cleaning I should no longer be cleaning, 2) the dirt canister does fill quickly and I hate having to touch that dirt when picking it out, etc., but it seems all cordless vacs are like that (gross), and 3) as easy as the vacs’ pieces click tightly together, they don’t come apart as easily and the written instructions are not great (I had to watch some videos to make sure I wasn’t doing something wrong or breaking the unit when trying to disassemble and switch around the orientation of the motor unit). Overall I am pleased so far. Lastly, there is some comment in the manual about how to properly charge the batteries for first use. I totally missed that and I think I charged them incorrectly. They are working fine, but you might want to read it for yourself so you don’t make the same mistake I did. Again, instructions are not particularly well written. Will update after several months’ use. Update after 9 months’ use: My above review completely stands after regular (daily) use, and if I had anything to add it is that I now reach for this vac daily (multiple times a day some days) over the full Miele canister unit that I have had since 2016 (which still works fine but is heavy and unwieldy and I’m getting tired). I’m actually considering buying a second Triflex for upstairs to save me having to run up and down the stairs to get it. My chief complaint remains cleaning the small dust bin. It is a very gross process. (Some smart engineer has to tackle this problem.). I now use my Miele canister vac to suck out the remaining debris from this unit. Kind of dumb when you think about it (vacuuming your vacuum), but that’s where I’m at at this point. ... show more

  • Short run time and bagless design ruins an otherwise great product experience
TL;DR I really had high hopes for this vacuum, but I can't recommend it, especially if you have allergies. Vacuum for 10 minutes, empty the dust bin, try not to breathe the dust cloud you just made, wipe everything down with with a damp rag, change the battery, rinse, repeat. My wife and I have owned and used Miele canister vacuums for over 30 years and highly recommend them. They're quiet, powerful, well made, and the HEPA filter and hygienic bag system are excellent for allergy sufferers. We wanted a cordless stick for small jobs and we bought a Miele Triflex HX2 Pro, knowing that we'd still need the canister for deep cleaning. In its defense, the Miele Triflex HX2 Pro is quiet, does a surprisingly good job of vacuuming on both carpets and hard floors, and the design and build quality are exceptional. Unfortunately, the battery runtime is really short and emptying the dust bin is a nightmare. We could live with the short run time (10-15 minutes per charge), but the bagless dust bin is a deal breaker. There's no way to empty it without creating a cloud of dust that goes everywhere. When you're done emptying it, there's fine dust clinging to the outside of the dust bin and rubber gaskets, and you'll need to wipe everything everything off with a damp rag. One more thing, the dust bin is really small, and you'll be doing this all the time. Samsung's Bespoke Jet has a bagged self-cleaning station. Who cares how good the filtration is if you wind up with a fluffy cloud of allergens every time you empty the vacuum. ... show more

  • Good suction power
This vacuum is worth your money. It has excellent suction power, and it helps that they added light to the vacuum so you can see clearly all the dust and debris. It perfectly removes all the hair knotted to carpets/rugs and vacuums on wooden floors. It gets in every corner and is easy to use and control. The vacuum is slim to fit between small spaces, such as under the couch. My only complaint is the battery life. When turned on full power, one battery lasts for about 45 minutes. The vacuum includes two batteries, so it solves the issue of limited battery life. ... show more

  • Distractingly quiet and SUPER powerful
Had a couple of other stick vacuums (what I call them) and each one is supposedly "the best". I have a canister Miele and couldn't rationalize spending this much on the smaller one, so I bought a hoover and the shark and they died, then the dyson and it didn't really work well enough to justify the price (a bit less than this Miele)... so I finally got this one. I've used it a handful of times now and the performance is great. It's odd, because the whole time I was using it, I was thinking "is it even DOING anything?"... yet when I'd stop and look... the tank was getting full. I would go back over the areas that I already cleaned and nothing more would come up. The floors look amazing and I'm sold that this will be the one that I go to for pretty much everything. The only downside is that the battery only lasts for about 30 minutes on full... and I'm one of those "if you're gonna do it... run on full power" kind of guys. So, getting both batteries is a must. I have a small-ish house, so both batteries do well for me and it covers my whole house including the catbox area and it manhandled ALL of that tricky material in one pass. One cool thing is that there's no changing floor types of wondering if you're getting the right amount of contact and suction... the unit does it on the fly. Go from carpet to hardwood and the brush turns on and off automatically as appropriate. So yeah, the cost is preventative for MOST, i believe.... but I am glad that i finally just did it. ... show more
