  • Astonishing
Color: Tech Blue Style: Turbo
I am kicking myself that I didn't buy this vacuum sooner! I love the Miele Blizzard canister Vacuum. It was the price. I just kept thinking wow that is a hefty price for something that might break or won't work in a year. So I tried a handful of other vacuums and bought them from target. Target has an easy show up drop off return policy. I tried each one for a few weeks... I tried the Dyson upright ball, Shark Swivel pro-pet and Hoover Wind-tunnel. Don't even waste your time buying these.. Just bite the bullet and buy a Miele. None of those vacuums compared to the Miele Blizzard. The Miele Blizzard hands down is the fit for me. In the past we had a central vac system. We also had the hoover wind-tunnel to cover drapes or place the central vac didn't cover that last 15 years but was probably only truly used for 3 full years. The Blizzard is a canister vac. I grew up with an old canister vac that would bump into your legs causing cruel shin bruises as you did your family chores. My siblings and I would fight for who got stuck vacuuming with those mean machines. So I avoided canister vacs. WOW the Miele is nothing like those monsters of the 80s. The Blizzard Miele is gentle and moves around gracefully. If it does bump you, you will never notice. It glides effortlessly on the floor or carpet. Fantastic design. It sits low to the ground so doesn't collide with furniture or get stuck under chairs. The parts are intuitive. I had no issues putting this together and I struggle with connecting the dots. I have mostly wood floors. Except for two carpeted bedrooms my home is all wood with a few low pile area rugs. I did not want a vacuum that sucks so hard on the area rugs that you can't finish the job. This has an adjustable power strength and a separate head for rugs. These click on an off so easily. Again an intuitive designed. And the retractable cord. Perfect! My cleaning time is faster. Why? because the nozzle can adjust so I can pop off the larger tube to focus on getting into the corners, or shelves or baseboards...Its telescope! Yup, you can open and adjust on a whim. In the past I often skipped doing the corners or drapes because the parts were stowed in a closet and it was a pia to run get them and struggle with connecting them. The Blizzard is designed so you have everything you need right there in front of you. At any length and any suction. LOVE IT!!! But... Before you jump into a Miele I recommend you go to some online videos and learn about which one would work for your needs. Often people think they want SUCTION. That somehow that is going to solve their problems. But trust me the Shark offered suction but I was fighting the vacuum to let go of the area rugs. The Miele was a perfect balance of suction but focused on picking up dust and debris not my rugs or drapes. I wanted medium suction because of my delicate rugs. I wanted something more for wood floors. I also did not want to deal with throw away vacuum bags. I wanted a bagless vacuum. But if you have allergies or pets the Blizzard may not be what you need. We have NO pets and mild allergies. Miele makes other vacuums for thick carpets, dogs, allergy sufferers, throw away bags, stronger suction and filters to keep your home healthy and dust free. However as I say this the Blizzard has the best HEPA filter 99.999% of particles are sucked up and put into this filter making your air cleaner. The suction offers flow rate of 100k per hour. The coarse debris and fine dust can be separated. The coarse debris lands in the transparent dust container, the fine dust in a separate container with a fine dust filter. Honestly it is the best I have seen so far. I won't lie the price scared me at first.. But after a few deep breaths I bought it. And I have no regrets. It is a vacuum that is going to last. Oh I forgot. When I was in Germany staying with friends. They had a Miele. So I got to use it while staying in their guest house. It was when i first learned about this vacuum. The one I bought in the US is far superior to the one I borrowed. I assume theirs was the classic C1 perhaps 10 years old. Visit the Miele website or online videos to find the right one for you. The Miele Complete KONA or Brilliant might be better for you if you have thick carpets and children. ... show more

  • No other vacuum comes close to a Miele
Color: Obsidian Black Style: Electro
I purchased the Blizzard CX1 Electro bagless canister vacuum. I had a Miele upright cat & dog vacuum that helped up for many years until one of the motors slowly went out. I've been using bagged vacuum cleaners for some time now because I didn't want the hassle of maintenance. However, I got a bagless CX1 because I vacuum a lot due to owning a 12-year-old Pembroke welsh corgi who sheds constantly. So you can imagine how well this vacuum works. If you don't mind cleaning the canister every so often, this vacuum is for you. But to keep the life of this vacuum going for years, you MUST keep up with the maintenance by cleaning the canister. Follow their instructions and allow each part to dry thoroughly. Overall this vacuum is excellent. If you have pets, get the electrical power head version. It'll clean your rugs very well, and you'd be surprised to see how much dust this vacuum can suction. Miele vacuums are the best in the industry. IMO they beat Dyson and other brands hands down. It's nice not to worry about purchasing vacuum bags for this machine. However, there is a trade-off to using a bagless vacuum- the cleaning of the canister. If you can handle emptying a dusty canister, you'll be fine. I'll do a simple empty of my canister after every clean vacuum session. And when I mean simple, I mean dump it outside in your trash bin and go. But I'll make the time to do a deep clean at least once a month since I vacuum once a week. That's when I wash the canister, the filter, etc. And then, I make sure all the parts are thoroughly dried overnight before I put it all back together for subsequent use. The power of the powerhead is superb. When you turn it on, the powerhead pulls forward (depending on what height setting you have it at), giving your vacuum experience a deep clean. It's great for pet hair that clings to your rugs. For bare floors, it's best to use the parquet vacuum head. Of course, you can use the powerhead without turning it on while the vacuum suction is running, but the parquet vacuum head does a better job and is light. Speaking of weight, using the powerhead on your carpet can give you an arm workout. This machine is heavy. But that's because Miele uses quality plastics, not the crap you get from China. Overall, this vacuum is an excellent investment so long as you keep up with its maintenance. As for the three models they offer, get the Electro model. See if the smaller attachment works best to vacuum your pet hair off furniture like fabric sofas. And if it's not working for you, get the pet attachment called the Turbo Mini head. I believe I may have the old model from my old upright but the newly updated version work well too. That's the only difference between the Electro model vs. the Pet model. Other than that, I highly recommend this vacuum for any household with pets. ... show more
