    • Three Months In, And It's Been A Great Little Freezer -

It's been 3 months so far, and it's been a great little freezer. We bought it to handle overflow from the big fridge when we buy in bulk, run into good sales, etc..... Delivery was great. I was really scared that they'd just drop it off the back, etc...., but they brought it covered, on a hand dolly, all belted in. No damage to the box, and more importantly, no damage to the fridge. The color is a standard black and streamlined in design. It simply looks like a midsized box or a modern cabinet a bit. The size is perfect, big enough to handle a multiple ice cream cartons, a few big flats of chicken, beef, ribs, etc... Also a couple of bags/boxes of fries, frozen vegetables, etc... I'm 6' tall, and it's about waist high, I put it on a little platform so it would be easier to reach the bottom basket/shelf. Noise isn't bad, just a little hum sometimes, not enough to be distracting. Cooling is ok, my fridge's freezer seems to get a little colder, but I haven't noticed anything bad like melting ice cream, etc.... It's freezing things well. It has a little turn lock at the bottom, it works, but I never use it. It's in an annoying spot, and I just don't have a need. It's not a standard key, but a hex type. You could probably use a standard hex key to get in if you ever lost the real one. Will update if anything bad happens. :). ... show more

Have to write this review. I live in an assisted living home, and meals are provided here. But because of a chronic health problem I can’t go down to the cafeteria. And having food delivered from the kitchen was costing me over $16 a day, when my meals were paid for with my rent. I have been cooking in my room now for two years, with just a microwave to use. With this wonderful freezer I can have a much bigger assortment of meals available, and it keeps my meals frozen very hard, so I don’t have to worry about spoilage. My life has improved tremendously and I am so very glad I decided to take the chance and buy this. I love it, and highly recommend this freezer to anyone who needs more freezer space. Perfect excess freezer storage and quick freeze items for packaging longer term storage items. When I mince and freeze whole garlic or chopped veggies, I freeze them in portioned sizes then repackage for dispensing from a freezer bag. 9x13 trays fit nicely on the shelf!

I was looking for an affordable compact freezer for some food storage in the garage, and this freezer fit the bill. I gotta rate it 4 stars based on a few minor complaints. Firstly I'm not a fan of the temperature control being on the bottom rear of the freezer. Requires me to pull it out to adjust the control. Kind of inconvenient so I cranked it to max and don't plan to adjust it any further. Secondly, and I hope this isn't a bad sign, it's not "whisper quiet" as advertised. It does make a humming/whistling noise and sometimes burbles. It appears to be working great but I am a little worried. Lastly, this thing has a TON of space in the interior, but only 2 shelves and a drawer. Results in perilous stacking of numerous pounds of ground beef, steaks, etc, on top of each other. I think it could have done with one more shelf in the middle. I might try to make something to make stacking easier. So my final thoughts, that don't affect my rating of the product but are worth considering when you make this purchase. The other reviewers have stated their product arrived dented. I would tell you, as a buyer, that the packaging of this freezer does indeed leave the freezer vulnerable to dents. My own freezer had a few inexplicable dents, but I simply let it sit upright for a few hours before plugging it in and it chilled right up. The thing might not look the best but it's clearly tough as nails. And don't forget that you can file a claim with the shipping company if it does get busted in shipment, so the risk is minimal. And lastly I want to say that this thing was extremely affordable when I needed one the most. It works extremely well. What more could I have asked for? If you pick one of these up for garage food storage, I truthfully don't think you'll regret it. ... show more

I bought it a little over 2 months ago & it's so worth the buy. It came in perfect condition. It fits everything I needed it for. I plugged it a few hours after unboxing, threw a popsicle in it and it froze it by an hr or 2. I have it set at the middle setting. It does make a humming noise but nothing over bearing. I placed it on top of my refrigerator at a small angle. The legs (knobs) in the front are adjustable. I have very little frost. Nothing that needs scrapping. I have an upright ‘Side-by-Side’ refrigerator / freezer and needed more freezer space. As I plan on remodeling my kitchen in the near future, I required a unit that fits under a standard height kitchen counter and this unit meets my design criteria. When “running” the unit is very quiet and performs as one would expect, i.e., it keeps everything inside frozen. What I like the most is the freezing system. Instead of blowing cold air via a fan into the freezer compartment it has four coolant circulating tubes in a closed system. One tube is located at the top and bottom (beneath a pullout wire storage basket) of the unit and one tube is located in each of the two fixed wire rack shelves. These wire rack shelves have a top and bottom approximately 1/2” apart forming a “sandwich” (if you will) through which the coolant circulating tube runs. Because of this type system (as opposed to a fan system) there are no areas in which the items inside aren’t frozen. For the price and cubic capacity, I think it’s actually very reasonably priced when compared to other undercounted freezer units. Would I buy this item again, absolutely yes. ... show more
