This is our third portable HVAC unit in our sunroom. The first one was okay, but it started leaking on the floor (even though we had it drained). The second one was HORRIBLE, had to be replaced once and then it didn’t function properly. It couldn’t keep up with cooling, so I ordered this one. It is amazing! We got it yesterday. I have been COLD, which is amazing, You can see from my pictures (the 3rd one), we raised it up of the floor and got a 3 inch pie plan for it to drain into (pic 2). This unit is amazing!! The media could not be loaded. When i received the AC unit and put it together it worked for about 10 minutes, the cooling stopped and started blowing hot air. i checked the back coils, they’re bent and parts are broken. when the cooling decides to start again it only lasts for about a minute and it sounds horrible. unit came with black fingerprints all over and was dirty. ... show more

    • Nice and cold, average noise.
First of all, this AC unit is nice and cold. It goes down to 60°F which is 2° cooler than most other AirCons in this category. It has pretty much all the same features you would expect an AirCon of this category to have (Cool, Dehumidifier, Fan, Timer, Sleep, Swivel, draining, etc) plus heat (untested), which is good for those winter days so you don't have to remove the window attachment (untested). One additional feature where this unit stands out is WiFi, Bluetooth and Smart App functions, along with Matter smart home compatibility. Unfortunately, one massive, unavoidable, glaring issue is that the WiFi connects to 2.4ghz ONLY. Not only does it not support 5ghz (which is fine by its own), it doesn't support combined 2.4/5ghz WiFi. So if you have a home WiFi network that's combined 2.4/5ghz, you're SOL. At least you can still operate it with the included physical remote control (although it doesn't have two-way sync) and the Smart App via Bluetooth. As for the noise levels, it's pretty average for an AirCon in this category. It's loud, but not deafeningly so. After awhile you do get used to it as background white noise. It's fine enough to sleep near, as long as you're not right next to it. You may need to crank the volume up a bit on whatever you're watching though. The heat exhaust tube isn't very long. If you have the unit on the floor and you're installing the tube about 4-5ft up, you'll be fine. If you're trying to install the tube 6+ft up, you may need to purchase a longer tube. Some things to know or keep in mind if you're a first time buyer of one of these types of AirCons: These have an evaporator coil (the thing that actively cools hot air) and thus create condensation. That condensation drips into a collection pan to evaporate back into the air. When the pan fills up to a certain limit, the AirCon switches to a passive cooling to prevent overflowing and creating a watery mess on your floor. So if your AirCon is no longer cooling as well (especially on a humid day), this may be the reason. They also have a drainage tube which you can hook up to drain the collection pan via gravity. There's no pump to actively push water up, so you'll need to drain to a fluid storage container or an actual drain below the AirCon. Be warned that on especially moist days, you can see upwards of 5 or more gallons of water drained during the course of a single day. (Note: This water is NON-POTABLE and NOT SAFE for drinking) ... show more

The media could not be loaded. This unit is great..I returned 3 different portable air conditioners from a different brand. This one worked alot better. Air conditioner in my home was out for 3 days everybody hung out in the garage. My daughter even got blankets and pillows ,let the seats down and slept in the back of my durango like a bed. The icing on the cake is that it has a heater too!!! I need another on to use in my living room. This Midea worked better for me than the leading brands. ... show more

Can't sleep at all. Even I put it into low mode, it is still running like plane engine. No way to sleep at all. Return it.

The packaging was damaged and all internal support foam is brittle Styrofoam. The product works ok, internal fins were damaged and the top plastic as well. Get a dual hose one instead. Single hose air conditioners are very inefficient. Returning the product.
