Description

Welcome to Crime City, a city where crime lurks around every corner. Disastrous secrets, devious robberies and cold-blooded murders are the order of the day here. The local police are no longer able to control the situation. Therefore, the work of clever investigators is required. MicroMacro - Crime City is a cooperative detective game. Together, the players solve 16 tricky criminal cases by determining motives, finding evidence, and convicting the perpetrators. An attentive eye is just as important as a deductive talent to unravel everything riddle on the 75 x 110 cm large game board. A magnifying glass is included in the game to help with finding every detail. One player takes on the role of Lead Investigator and is responsible for reading the case cards out loud (but of course they will also help with solving the case). The players choose together which case they want to play, and the Lead Investigator reads out the corresponding start card as well as the first task. Together, the players explore the map of Crime City to answer all the questions on the case cards, one after another. The game ends as soon as the last case card has been answered correctly.

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Fun but can get repetitive
I love the concept of this game, and it helps my kid with map skills. But the cases and questions get repetitive (where did the victim live? where does the killer live? for each case). Don’t buy this game if you don’t appreciate dark humor.

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Fun and challenging game
I love games and so does my son. I thought this would be a great one to check out, especially since he likes games we can play as a team. We've only done a few of the cases, but they've been a ton of fun. We're looking forward to finishing the cases and picking up the other editions.

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars The Cutest Spin on a Crime Game
This was a perfect game for our Detective Sleuth party. The game itself is one large comic map of a crime city. We followed clue cards that lead us to specific scenes of the crime and follow along for its storyline. It’s a one time play.

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars A clever and fun experience!
This is actually less of a game and more of a really fun experience that can be had with a group of people. I must say that if you are of the age in which reading glasses are a necessity, you will want to have a few extra magnifying glasses on hand. Most people in the group I played with were hysterical as the various mysteries unfolded while we played. So much clever thought went into the design of this "game" that its subtleties and intricacies are mind blowing. The stories that each mini-mystery contains are held in a progression of scenes on a map that will literally take up your entire tabletop. It will definitely help if you have a younger person to help spot the tiny details while the more seasoned players use magnifying glasses, but it is not necessary. We ended up playing several mysteries in a row. They are quite addicting. Looking forward to trying out a few more in the days and weeks ahead. The price of this game makes this purchase a no-brainer. You will not be disappointed. ... show more

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars FUN!
I've been waiting to play this for awhile, thinking it looked like an interesting game. I loved the "look and find books" when I was a kid and this seemed right up my alley. I was right! It is more of an activity than a game, but certainly very fun and entertaining. There are several cases to solve and each gets alittle bit harder as you go along. My boyfriend and I really had a blast solving each case. The first few are pretty easy but get you warmed up to the kind of tracking and evidence you need to look for to solve the crimes. You are not just looking for specific objects or places (though you do that too) but rather following entire stories and motivations of characters by just visually spotting them at various locations, following their movements around town, discovering whom they have met or interacted with, or what tasks they've performed. Each case has its own set of cards (some have only a few, while harder cases have many) each card has a single question to answer by investigating the map. You attempt to solve it and when you believe you've figured it out... flip the card to find out if you're right. I would recommend this for families with kids 8+ and as it turns out, perfect for couples or friends looking to try out a new activity, as well. I hope to see some expansions and future similar games! Can't wait to play again. The map is incredibly detailed and fun to explore even without solving the crimes! ... show more

Heard about it on a podcast. Got it for family game time over holidays. From the 8 year old to the 78 year old, we all played together and had a really great time! Highly recommend!
