I've been painting miniatures for a little over a year now, I started with citadel paints and moved to Vallejo, and Army Painter. While each of those brands have their own pluses and minuses I feel that this particular set for the value was the best bet. The fact that it includes a thinner as well as a brush cleaner medium was a surprise to me. I was searching for a new set of paints with a varied color palette that wouldn't break my bank at this moment. There are some really good high cost high quality paint sets I would love to try, but like I said with a year of experience in it and I can definitely see that these are a nice clean vibrant quality. Using the thinning medium has changed the way I paint completely. Prior to that I was using water and thinned out paints and using multiple layers while I still use the multiple layer approach it is actually really well done using their included thinner.     • Quality miniature model paint
This stuff is comparable to Vallejo paints which everyone in the hobby already knows are tried and true. I honestly would not be able to tell the difference between the 2 brands looking at a finished model or trying to paint with it. The price is about the same but this includes slightly bigger bottles with a better design on the lid and seem to come with a plastic mixer ball already inside but its hard to tell for sure. This paint set also includes a paint thinner and cleaner for airbrushing. Its really hard to beat the price and value of this paint set for anyone wanting to have a quality paint job on something. If you're looking to get into mini-painting but don't want to spend all the money up front, these are a great starter set. I use these all the time for my projects and I don't have any issues with clumping or mixing. They dry pretty quick and are great colors. These are not ideal for any dry brushing techniques though. General purpose painting and even thinned for airbrush, these have been a good bet. ... show more

    • Great paint, packaging could be better
I used this Micro-Mark brand of paint before a few years ago, so I picked it up again to teach my grandson how to paint miniatures. The paint itself is a dream to paint with, being on par with your other main brands of miniature paints. It gives you a nice matte finish and surface that makes your 2nd, 3rd, etc coats easy to paint on, and the final paint job always looks great. I loved that this set came with the thinner and brush medium and some great colors for a basic color set. The part that wasn't great was that when they arrived the box was torn up so they were loose inside of the Amazon box, and since someone else also mentioned that in a review I felt like I should too since it is obviously not a great package design if that happens to others as well. But it didn't damage the paints at all, which is why I still rated these paints 4 stars. ... show more

This pack of paints is an excellent choice if you're a hobbyist like me, as you can use it for various different projects. The bottles are smaller and easier to store, but you still get a nice assortment of different colors. One of the key features for me is how easily you can just get a tiny bit of paint out of the bottle. The paint itself is better than craft store quality. ... show more
