  • Fantastic staple gun and an amazing value
Style: N3804AB3
Purchased this for putting down 5/8 plywood underlayment prior to laying linoleum flooring. I was skeptical that it would go through material of that thickness since narrow crown staples are usually mentioned for use in securing 1/4 underlayment. I'm pleased to report this worked great and probably could've shot through inch+ plywood without much trouble. In pressure firing mode I was able to rip through 1500 staples in no time. Not a single misfire and I only encountered ONE staple out of all of those that needed to be countersunk a bit more. Really impressive performance. More generally: Metabo/Hitachi is really putting out some great tools. Their pneumatic nail and staple guns are some of the best deals on the market. Every encounter I've had with a Metabo/Hitachi tools recently has left me impressed and from a pure value standpoint they might be the best bargain on the market. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to anyone. ... show more

  • My first pneumatic tool so I had a learning curve
Style: N3804AB3
but I love how light this tool is. Once I learned to turn down the air pressure to 50, it works great! It was driving the staples too deep until I did that. I'm a woman so didn't have any help in how it works and I felt the diagrams could have been bigger because they were not as clear as I would have liked. They are merely black and white diagrams. Real photos of the tool might have helped also. I bought the complete kit from Amazon which included hose, compressor and the tool. I didn't need to buy anything else to use it. I would recommend this just for how light the tool is. I am attaching hardware cloth to a lean to for my chickens, and this makes light work of it. I had a manual stapler which was not only hard work but the staples are now coming out of the wood. I'm sorry I waited so long to buy one. ... show more

  • Nailed It! aka Stapled It.
Style: N3804AB3
I needed a narrow crown stapler capable of using 1 1/2" staples. I have used Dewalt, Porter-Cable and others and was leaning that way when I searched for a new one with longer staple capacity. The price on this one at $79 stood out and I am familiar with Metabo and Hitachi, so I decided to give it a try. My first staple was more than a 1/2" proud. I adjusted the depth gauge to full depth and still lacked 1/4". I increased the air pressure to 100 psi and finally got the staples flush with my underlayment. I drove close to 200 staples and every one was either flush or a bit below the surface. ... show more

  • Great tool for the price.
Style: N3804AB3
I think a majority of the issues people are having with this tool is pressure related. You can't just take this stapler and plug it into a 150 psi system. The operators manual (the bane of many a bad reviewers) clearly states the proper input pressure as 70-120 psi. Most compressors are rated between 135 and 250 PSI. So as per the manual you NEED to run a regulator (as you will with most pneumatic staplers). So the jams many have spoken of are most likely caused by excess pressure. Very dangerous if they are running it on a 250 psi system with no regulator as that exceeds the limits of this staplers maximum safe pressure of 200 psi. Using the wrong PSI can lead to serious injury and/or death. The least important issue with running too high a pressure is that the tool will not work correctly. This is a very good tool when used in accordance with the instruction and safety manual. We have used it with marine grade plywood layered over fiberglass composite marine board. Rarely a jam with good quality staples using the suggested PSI. ... show more

  • It can be used in width 7/32" nails
Style: N3804A5 - Pro Model
Both W= 1/4" and 7/32" nails can be used in n3804a5 . Because their inner width is the same 3.5mm . It is mentioned in its manual that the inner width used is 3.5mm, so I know it can be used This machine is manufactured precisely with very small tolerances. I have used about 2000 nails No jam You can feel a very strong impulse, the only drawback is that it does not have a rotatable air pressure connector. I immediately used it to build my toilet wall ceiling. It helped reduce my wrist overuse. If I use a screwdriver, my hand will be very painful all day long. Hitachi is very expensive, but the quality is also very good It's worth about 150usd. it is made in TAIWAN. I set the pressure of the air compressor to be usable at about 5kg, and it can’t be used at a lower pressure, so I finally set 6kg to achieve a balance It's very light, you can take it all day without a problem W= 1/4", 3/4" nails are quite expensive W=7/32", 3/4" nails are very cheap, only about 1/3 of the price So I plan to use only W=7/32" nails for this machine in the future I also bought HPT special oil ... show more

  • Works Great
Style: N3804AB3
I love this stapler! It is easy to adjust how deep the staples are driven. And I like that I can see how many staples are still in the gun. It has an easy open nose to clear jams, but I haven't had a jam yet. I think this is about as good as a stapler can get. I've owned a dozen or so air nailers and staplers over the years. I always add eight to ten drops of air nailer oil into the air line connector on the end of the gun before use each day. I always adjust the air pressure to be within the range specified for that gun, using the lowest pressure within that range that works. ... show more

  • Diffrent name but still great quality
Style: N3804AB3
I own mostly Senco brand nail/staple guns. I needed a small staple gun like this one for light duty use to replace a cheap Porter Cable that I never cared for that finally broke and could not be repaired. This gun is light and has features someone using a small stapler might and find handy as we have. The price is a great deal as far as I can tell. Service time in the shop will tell as my Senco guns go years without problems. We hope this one will also. If your going to staple a lot of hard woods over 1 inch thick, think of a heavier gun ... show more
