  • Excellent
Style: Bare Tool
Very good functional product and practical case

  • Fantastic quality
Style: Bare Tool
This is an excellent tool, I bought T-50 3/8 in. staples like the other review said, worked flawlessly to re-screen my porch. It’s a powerful, well-built tool, not heavy or cumbersome to hold. Would recommend.

  • Heavy but worth it!
Style: Bare Tool
Weighs over 5lbs with battery. Recommend using wrist straps when using this. After a hour my wrist starts getting sore of constant use doing upholstery without wrist straps. Saw a video of projectfarm comparing staplers and this is the best! No more wasting staples like other brands that don’t fire the remaining 5 staples. Bought it for $200 ... show more

  • A fine tool
Style: Bare Tool
After years of hand stapling various projects I found that I couldn't really grip many of the staplers I own well enough to ensure my safety. I had never been able to use a hammer type stapler with any accurate results. I bought the nice little Arrow brand stapler, it works fine on lightweight shade cloth over my fish tank and other light items, I have only used it for the 3/8 staple length. I needed to fix some weathered cedar lattice paneling that was pulling loose as it aged. I own several cordless Makita tools and find them of superior performance and quality and ordered this tool as soon as I realized staplers were now cordless. I got the 9/16 arrow T50 staples, and after reading all about the stapler, I pulled the charged battery from my Makita blower, went out to the panel, pushed the front retractable lip down on a single layer cedar board and pulled the trigger. Like a dream come true the staple drove in the proper depth and so did the next and the next. The tool with the battery installed is easy to manage, well balanced so it doesn't feel heavy or uncontrollable, and a sturdy feel when it is doing its job. ... show more

  • Good Product - Terrible Name - High Price
Style: Bare Tool
4/5 stars because it really is a great tool but it is an overgeneralized name that can lead people to believe it will shoot various types of crown staples and because its pricey. This is perfect for shooting type T50 crown staples only! It may not shoot other types of crown staples as the slot for staples is designed for T50 type! So far I have put 9/16" and shorter T50 staples through it and it shoots and sets them perfectly. The bump fire is fast and works well. Reloading is easy. The hook is great and clips nicely on a tool pouch, pocket or belt. I would recommend this for: stapling paperbacked fiberglass insulation in stick frame construction, installing visqueen/plastic/vapor bariers, putting up flyers/ads on telephone poles, excels in upholstery, carpet installation (some applications), installing vinyl soffit venting, securing thin metal cornerbeed for outside corner drywall installation. From a functional standpoint it will remove the need to have air hoses air compressors and electrical cords setup to run it meaning you can move freely without job site range limitations. This was the bigest selling point for me as I hate getting cords out, having to constatly re-adjust them, avoid tripping on them and then having to wrap them up or move them because they don't reach where I need to be. Battery life is good and so far I have not run down my 3.0 18v battery even after depleting several fully loaded magazines of staples through it. It is a little noisy but not louder than a hammer striking a nail. It has some weight to it but if you are a working type you will not notice fatigue more than a small hammer drill-driver comparatively. Two reasons why it doesn't get 5 stars. Reason 1 the name implies it can shoot many types of crown staples which I can assure you is not true I didn't try it with all the different types and widths of crown staples but I can assure you it works best for T50 and may not work well with others. The name should state something along the lines of "Makita XTS01Z 18V LXT T50 Crown Stapler". Yes T50 staples are technically crown staples but in the trades crown staples are often thought of as much larger and robust. This is a forearm saving light stapler with limited applications. (minus 0.5 star for the naming). Reason 2 the price. I understand it says Makita and the engineering and marketing that went into it was considerable and it saves time which can equate to saving money but all said and done if you aren't using it for the limited range of applications often (often is a relative term to the user) it really is a somewhat overpriced novelty. It should really be closer to $100 on price (just my opinion but still minus another 0.5 stars). WIth all that said I am not returning it and mine is not for hire nor will I loan it out. ... show more

  • Works good. A little heavy for long use
Style: Bare Tool
I do like it. However, it's a little heavy for long use, especially when using vertical or overhead.

  • Amazing how stupid some people can be!!
Style: Bare Tool
Absolutely love it. I'm amazed at how stupid some people can be. Sure, there are some legitimate complaints. Like the 7/8 inch legs do not fit this staple gun. They do not. Those are T-75 staples. This gun will only accept the T-50 type staples (if you are following Arrow protocol). But the complaints about this gun being too slow, or too heavy, or putting the staples in randomly (like you never know what this gun is going to do...lol), are absolutely ridiculous. This gun is so powerful and accurate, I cannot say enough good things about it. If you tilt the gun to one side or the other, the staple will go in on that angle. As it will with any staple gun. I would not classify this gun as a "wide crown stapler". It's essentially a powered standard staple gun. Just like the Arrow T-50 staple guns, except with way more power, and the ability to rapid fire (hold down the trigger, then every time you touch the head to the surface, it fires). Granted, pneumatic staplers are way faster. But speed is not why you buy this gun. Even though it is quite fast in rapid fire mode. Thank you Makita. Also the seller was great. No trouble and fast shipping. ... show more
