  • Possibly the best plastic pod for the Senseo there is.
After searching in vain for more paper filters (grr!) to make my own Senseo-type coffee pods, I decided to try out these refillable ones from Melitta. I’m glad I did! Unlike other plastic refillable eco pods or the Duck-whatever-it’s-called insert, it produced not only a decent espresso-like brew, but also had that distinctive crema on top of the coffee that I had come to expect from the Senseo and similar paper filter pods. While I prefer the paper filters I can fill myself because I can make a bunch of them at once with very little mess when used (and they’re great for putting into the compost for my garden), at least I can get the same quality—if not better—from these Melitta pods. Plus, I can still use the grounds for the compost. I gave these a 5 because of the quality of the brew, but it is a messier process than the paper filters, as you do have to dump out the grounds and then clean out the refillable pod each time you use it. Still, it’s good because the quality is good, I can use whatever kind of coffee I like (such as local roasters’ coffee), and I can still compost the grounds. As far as reusable plastic pods go, it really is the best. ... show more

  • Good Senseo reusable filter
This permanent filer works very well, very little fine particles make it through the fine mesh filter.

  • Overall Pleased
Okay, so I've had this product for a week or more, and I gotta say... it's pretty darn good. I had just finished my last pack of Senseo pods, and this came in just at the nick of time (phew); so I couldn't wait to try this out with some grounds that I had. So, here was the con: the water would not run through the filter, and I ended up with water all over my counter. So, I, half-asleep start to freak and get this mess cleaned up. I try again, thinking maybe I didn't have the filter in correctly... low and behold, water all over the place again. ARGH! My daughter, who is not a coffee drinker, says to me (after laughing hysterically at my coffee catastrophe) that maybe the coffee is too big for the basket. Hmm, could that really be the case, could an 8y.o. really know more about this machine than I?!?!. So, I grind the grounds a bit more fine (using a food processor for a quick fix), and try again. Yes, I was crossing my fingers that I wouldn't be cleaning a mess again. And by golly, the machine worked just perfect. No issues, hiccups, or spills of any sort. Alright... so here is my two cents... these filters are good, and it will save my wallet in the long run. Just be sure that you are using finely ground coffee, as I don't wish a mess on anyone. ~*~Cheers~*~ ... show more

  • Doesn't fit senseo coffee maker
Never even got to use them. I opened a kurig cup, dumped it into this, it doesn't hold much, had to dump half out, the went to put it into the senseo coffee maker, and the reusable filter wouldn't fit. I'd had it too long by the time I tried it and couldn't return it, so I had to throw them away. Check that they will fit your coffee maker before you buy. I thought because it said it would fit senseo coffee machine it would fit mine, but it didn't. ... show more

  • Bought these for my new Senseo
I love the coffee made by my first generation Senseo single cup brewer and used ecopods and my own coffee (usually Starbucks espresso). This worked fine for 14 years then the old Senseo started to leak, so I bought the new generation Senseo and melitta pods since my old ecopods are just enough too tall to not work properly. The melitta pods fit better, leaving sufficient height to easily open the coffee chamber of the machine. The melitta pods do not hold very much coffee and sadly produce a weaker cup of coffee. They also rather expensive at $15 for only 2 pods. But they do work, so the choice is whether to buy prepared pods or get the melitta. If there is a better pod out there, I would welcome the information. ... show more

  • For use with the double pod on a Philips Senseo
The media could not be loaded. Pick your favorite coffee (ground or use your beans and grind to medium texture.) This will save you money and you will have endless choices of what flavors you can have. It takes a little bit longer to prep and dispose of but not that much longer. The key is to not overfill the pad filter and to close the lid and make sure no excess grounds are on the outside of the filter. Just like any coffee pods used for your machine, ANY grounds that get into the pin hole on your pod holder will cause the flow of water and coffee to be stopped and pressure to build in your machine. When that happens just give the machine time to lose the vacuum seal that’s been created. Eventually the lid will open and the pod holder can be removed and cleaned. This has happened with many paper coffee pods I have used in the past. To date these Melitta padfilters have not had this problem. But I am being careful to not leave coffee grounds on the exterior when filling. I do recommend this product. I have used it for 30 plus days and have had no problems. Please note, don’t throw the grounds down the drain. You will clog your plumbing. Dump in the trash or your backyard garden. I guess many people don’t realize just how small a pipe is. ... show more

  • Does its job
I ordered these for my Senseo coffee maker since i wanted to use my own ground coffee instead of the pre-made pods. You need to place this filter inside the existing double pod holder, it fits very well. One of these filters holds one pod worth of coffee, so you need to use both if you want to make a larger coffee. Otherwise, use it for a single cup. This is a well-made product, it does not leak and it fits well. I wish it could hold more coffee in each filter, I end up making two single cups, which works well, too. It is worth the money if you do not mind the extra step. ... show more

  • Make sure you have a 2 pod insert for Senseo machine
These work great in my Senseo machine. If you buy these make sure to use the 2 pod insert. They won't work on the single pod ones. There was no leaking and made great cup of coffee or espresso. Make sure to use fine ground coffee. The instructions say to use the 1 cup setting but you still get a decent cup with 2 cup setting. Before cleaning the pods let the grounds dry out before removing for easier cleaning. If you grow a garden or plants the used coffee makes good fertilizer or can be composted. I bought 2 packs of the pods and noticed that one set was harder to open than other. If you have problem opening the pod use a small screwdriver to open. ... show more
