I love the natural materials and throwback to simpler days with the Melissa and Doug toys. The modeling dough kit is a favorite of my granddaughter. And the tools that come with it get played with long after the dough has been put away. My 2 year old loves playdough, and I was looking for a set of dough tools that would be usable for a toddler. These are nice little tools! They are toddler friendly, i.e., not too difficult for her to manipulate. They feel sturdy. I have seen some reviews complaining about the dough, but our dough is great, no problems at all. Of course it won't last long! Playdough never does. But we make playdough often here. Amazon sells playdough by the case too. :) ... show more

The tools in this set are a great addition to any kid’s play doh arsenal. They are well made and function well. But like other reviewers mentioned, the “dough” included in the kit is so sticky that it’s unusable. It immediately went into the trash. Stick with real Play Doh with these tools, and you’re good! ... show more

Play dough- good consitsancy and smell. Works well with the tools. Moldable. The containers are really thin and don’t close too well. Might have to remove all of the plastic that sealed the container Tools- they all worked; scissors cut well, rolling pins moved smoothly and the other plastic tools work well. Cookie cutters are a bit thin but work. Wooden box- super helpful to keep things from getting lost. It would be awesome if the box came with a lid. Just a thought. Overall- my 2 year old really liked this set. She was able to use all of the components. Really enjoying this kit. Not pictured- orange rolling pin; my daughter was playing with it. ... show more

As you come to expect from Melissa and Doug, quality is king with this product. The modeling doughs are all individually sealed with plastic as well as the lid, ensuring they were not dried out when I received them. One set of scissors cuts a zig zag while the other is straight, so it is an excellent learning tool. The rollers with prints work very easily with minimal effort and glide flawlessly. The lids double as molds to make various shapes, which is dual purpose and minimal waste, always a good thing. The wooden tray it comes in makes for perfect storage without the tools rolling all around in a drawer or bin somewhere. This was my child’s favorite present from mom & dad on his 3rd birthday. He already had so many toys so I wanted to gift him things that were to aid in activities. He loves the cookie cutters and scissors the most and I love that neither of those things are sharp enough to hurt him.
