I followed directions to a T, soaking each seed the correct amount of days before planting. Nothing grew. I used a spray bottle to keep the top 1/2 inch of soil damp. All mildew. It is gross. I'm no stranger to gardening, tho' I've never tried Bonsai. Only one seed germinated out of the entire kit. I followed the instructions on the seed packets exactly, letting them soak for as long as the packets said. Planted the seeds in the soil and pots provided. It has been a month since I planted them & only one seed, an acacia, germinated. No other instructions are included in the kit, and the tools provided are useless for bonsai. The seeds must have been really old for them not to germinate. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT! ... show more

    • Wood is not treated for moisture
So I love the idea of this kit and I was so excited for it! I love the plant markers even though they did rot after a while in moist soil. The planter box started falling apart and started splitting apart due to the moisture from the soil. I had two sprouts and both died, I followed the directions to a T because I’ve been trying to grow bonsai trees and this was my third try so I followed the directions meticulously. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong but the minus stars is for the quality of the planter box and plant markers.
