I see other negative reviews but I can only tell you that I’ve owned mine for almost 4 years without issue. Also, I am at the maximum weight too. The cross support bar broke on my expensive “heavy duty” chair. It barely fit between doorways and would often crush my knuckles getting through. It was 35 in wide and hard to maneuver vs 25 in wide for this model. This will even fit through a standard bathroom door. Easy to control, no slippage and easy to fold and put in the trunk. Will also fit in our backseat. The handles feel loose but are securely fastened and allow some play in the backrest for folding. I recommend adding a 4 inch pad that I bought on Amazon. ... show more

Midline products never disappoint. I work in healthcare and this is a top notch transport chair. This product is definitely good for sitting short term at doctors appointments or grocery store visits. If you pop a cushion on it, you’re good to go for a few hours. My mom is 5 foot 8 for reference and says the seat is comfortable and does not dig into her buttocks. I myself am over six feet. If you are taller/ bigger this chair is not for you. ... show more

Needed a temporary wheelchair after an injury. Borrowed one from a friend which was very heavy and cumbersome to move around. This wheelchair however, is light and very easy to steer and get around. It is also easy to get in and out of the car.

I have MS (multiple sclerosis) and use a power chair that I really like. It's my 'never-fail' workhorse, heavy duty and well...expensive. It's a bit bulky in our small house. I wanted a budget friendly, self-propelled wheelchair for in home use. I needed something that would fit through my narrow 28.5" doorways and this Medline chair did that well. My floors are not carpeted. All rooms are laminate or tile. No problem zipping through the house. Fairly easy to maneuver. There is a bit of an issue getting over small irregularities like thresholds. We're working on smoothing those out with mini ramps. Do I expect this Medline wheelchair to last for decades? Probably not. Will I use it outside or on rough terrain? Nope. Am I over the 300# weight recommendation? Nope. I weigh 180 lbs and am 5' 6". I'd say this wheelchair is a good 'extra' to have around. It's relatively lightweight compared to my power wheelchair. I do use a gel cushion for tushy comfort. Leg rests adjust well. Oh, and the armrests lift up and out of the way for transferring. Love that. So, all in all...if you're looking for an inexpensive chair to fit through small doorways and bop from room to room, this one is good. A solid 3 out of 5 stars! ... show more
