I previously purchased one of these for the home theater in my home. As it got closer to winter and the air became dryer, and our Border Collie began to shed more growing in her winter coat I decided to buy a second one of these for the living room. The difference between the home theater room and the living room in the amount of dog hair we were seeing was a huge difference. The main floor where this second unit sits has more square footage than the basement area where the home theater is so I noticed that running it on medium (like in the basement) isn't as effective as the first unit is in the smaller area. Running it on high does the job, but the fan on high is much louder than on medium. It does a great job and I know from the purchase of the first unit that the filters last a long time if you remember to clean the pre filters once a month. This is in a home with two long hair dogs. I purchased the higher rated filters for smoke assuming that they would help more with the dog hair. So far it seems like my hunch was right. ... show more

I originally purchased one for when i have a group of people over, but I have been running it every day. Fantastic product. I have had zero allergy issues since i started running this unit. The air is fresh, and no more morning headaches. My parents were blown away by it when they came to stay with me. We’ve had this since April. On the lowest setting it makes an annoying click noise. On medium it’s okay. On high it’s SO loud we can’t hear the tv over it. I regret not returning this sooner because the window is long gone but it just isn’t good considering it’s so darn $$.

I first saw one of these at my Dentist's office and decided I needed one of these and it has not disappointed yet. I've had it for about a year now and keep it in the kitchen for the primary purpose of getting rid of lingering cooking smells quicker than they would naturally dissipate. And this thing is absolute perfection it cleans the air such that the air is just clean rather than perfumed or ozone-smelling I LOVE it. I don't run it 24 hours, I only run it approximately daily and usually for 4-8 hours overnight and by morning whatever I cooked the previous night's smell is completely gone (even things that tend to linger longer than others like bacon). I highly recommend this air cleaner:} I turned it on, closed the door for 24 hours, and noticed the difference immediately. I can breath so much better and I'm taking deeper breaths, with COPD this is great. at the medium setting it raises the background noise in our quite rural home from 22 db to 43 db. (at 6 feet) If you live in a city, you might not notice the noise. you'll hear motor, bearing and fan noise. Though pretty quiet on low it is most annoying on low and produces a soft constant click (from the bearings I think) on Medium the soft click is almost gone and you hear mostly fan noise, on high the fan noise is pretty loud in a quiet room. we use medium setting most of the time. We have 4 of these in a 4000 sqft 3 level home. This unit does the job we bought it for which is remove forest fire smoke/smell during summer months. ... show more
