Very clear sound almost as good as my littmann 4 cardiology and definitely better that my Littmann 3! I love the MDF acoustica so much I bought 2 for the price! I was curious as to the MD one. I am a nursing student and I am in clinicals a lot. I keep back up stethoscopes due to the fact my friends will leave theirs at home. If I have a less critical patient who has no cardiology issues I tend to switch out my cardiology 4 for an MDF acoustica because it’s less heavy around my neck and I can still auscultation lung and bowel sounds and get accurate vitals. The MD one is great and I was pleasantly surprised. If you do not wish to spend an arm and a leg on a high quality littman but still want the quality sound hands down go with the MD One! It is heavier than the acoustica, but the sound quality is there. No static or noise from rubbing! I was pleasantly surprised! If you have issues with stethoscopes growing legs and walking away MDF provides engraving on their titanium models, or you can buy an acoustica with the thicker tubing provided for the MD one. I have an acoustica with the thicker tubing it has better quality sound for around 48$. While I will always carry a littmann,MDF stethoscopes are competent pieces of equipment for a fraction of the price! ... show more

Comparing this to the less expensive MDF747XPBO, the MD One is definitely superior and worth the extra money. Out of the box, the MD One just feels better. The rubber that is used for the hose is more flexible and has a matte textured feel to them that doesn't attract dust/lint. The bell/diaphragm is heavier and seems to be made of better stainless steel than the 747XPBO. The audio pick of heart and lung sounds is much clearer because of how well the MD One isolates the sound that you want. Both come with extra parts and the terrific Lifetime warranty/free parts for life. If you're on the fence about getting the 747XPBO or the MD One, get the MD One. You won't regret it. If you're debating about getting the MD One or a 3M Littman, it's up a toss up depending on your budget. The Littman has more fun designs, is easier to match your clothing, and comes from a very well known company. ... show more

    • Great Middle of the Road Stethoscope, Just What I Was Looking For

Purchased this to replace the Littman I had received after graduating nursing school three years ago. My old one had shaped to my neck and the tubing became stiff, so I needed a replacement as the tubing was not under warranty. The product arrived timely in appropriate packaging. The stethoscope came with the box and all accessories as listed. The ear pieces are clear, which I guess I didn't really notice but is different than I have seen. The rose gold is beautiful, does not appear "copper" to me as listed in some other reviews I read. I hesitated as this one is listed 1+ oz heavier than my previous stethoscope, but I wore it a couple shifts and it didn't seem to bother me. The tubing is soft and flexible, and also is lengthier than my previous one which I like. The sound quality is good to me, but having only had average middle of the road stethoscopes I'm not a great judge on sound quality. The diaphragm flips back and forth with ease, but not so easy it moves on its own. Accessories are nice as you can attach a name tag if wanted, and test out the ear pieces to see what fits best. I opted for the standard because they seem the most comfortable. In review I would recommend this to someone looking for an average to good quality stethoscope that has a little flare. Definitely looks different than any I've seen, and the colors looo great with our grey scrubs. I work in an ER so the quality is appropriate and I'm happy with the product! I did give this only a 4-star as I'm not a huge fan of the clear ear pieces. I'm worried, as gross as it is, that ear wax/skin particles will be noticeable as the whole piece is clear. Typically I clean my stethoscope with alcohol wipes pretty frequently, but I just feel I'll have to keep a closer eye on this to make sure I don't have a gross ear piece hanging around my neck. ... show more

I wanted a really nice stethoscope, but also didn’t want to spend several hundreds of $$$ on one. This stethoscope was less than $100, is durable, allows you to hear clearly, and is also very cute!

I bought just any stethoscope, but needed a new one I got recommendations from other nursing students online. Someone recommended MDF said they would haven’t looked back since plus it’s a lifetime warranty on the parts. I didn’t realize the difference between a regular stethoscope and this one. The quality, and beauty is something else. Worth every penny, I can hear so clear, I am always getting complements on how beautiful my stethoscope is. The clarity is great. I also have the less attachments. Whoever gives this a low rating is cap because this is a great quality great buy item. I bought my nephew one as well when he said he was going into nursing because I knew I could count on the quality of the product.
