Needed a sturdy leash for my rather sturdy pitbull puppy...after her snapping a leash in two I decided we needed something that could endure her incredible strength and so far, this leash seems like it will more thank likely hold up fairly well. Comfortable to hold and even wrap around the hand a few times. She has tried chewing it and there's not a scratch on it, most other nylon leashes would have at least some marks from her toofs. No fabric rope is chew-proof, but I'm pleased this rope is very durable and strong. If your dog has a tendency to pull or yank aggressively, this is very strong, and the soft-grip handle is equally durable and easy to hold on to. I found that the foam padding around the loop handle part was uncomfortable and actually made it harder to hold the leash so I removed it and now the leash is very comfortable and works well. It's a good width and weight for my 11 lb. chihuahua mix. The foam padding around the handle had actually started to tear and come off on its own so I just decided to help it on its way and remove it completely, and since it was bothering me to begin with, it turned out to be a massive improvement. I've been using this leash for 9 months and had no problems with it since removing the foam padding. It is still in perfect condition and working out well. I feel very safe and confident when walking my dog that the leash will hold up under my dog's normal pulling or if I have to suddenly pull her out of harms way from something. I ordered the 1/4 inch width, 6 ft. long purple leash. The actual width of the leash is a bit wider than 1/4 inch but smaller than a 1/2 inch so I'm not sure which width it is. All I can tell you is that I ordered the 1/4 inch width and it is working out well. I would recommend this leash and if the foam handle pad bugs you, it can be easily removed. ... show more

Feels a little less thick and sturdy than all my other 1/2" leashes. Remove one point because the rubber which slides over the loop at the clip slides off. If you're holding the leash at the end of the rope and your dog pulls it'll slip off and you'll lose control.

I have used this for a few months now with a growing standard poodle and though he has chewed and yanked on it it still looks like new. We've used it in the rain, the snow, the mud... It's still beautiful. It has a great weight to it and is a nice length for either doing obedience work or allowing him leeway to enjoy a good sniff-filled walk.
