    • Does what it's supposed to do
Initially my MAXMAN Clamp/Vise had a lot of wiggle where the clamp attached to the ball joint. That wiggle was fixed by tightening the phillips head screw. Aside from that one issue, it seems to be pretty solid for my projects. I don't work with metals, so I don't have to worry about the steel hardness. The thread of the clamp screw is wider than the threading of the Stanley 83-069M. That might matter for some people that need tight tolerances on adjustment.     • Vice is at most 3” mouth
Bought this since the description stated 5.5” vice opening, however it’s at most 3” and this thing is a lot smaller than I expected. Didn’t even handle 25 ft lb of pressure before moving around. Even the part that attaches to the table isn’t the correct spacing as advertised. Trash

I use it for just about everything and haven’t found a real issue with it yet, I will say it’s a lot smoother once you add a little grease to it.

    • Not the greatest not the worse
It worked for my purposes, but dont expect too much. It would a much greater product if it clamped a little deeper onto work table.

The ball head mount for this vice is quite strong and locks well. It's a smaller vice aimed squarely at people who do detail work and small projects. The screw-in pegs and handy for lightly holding contoured and curved items, while the jaws have plastic covers. These are really lightweight and can be chewed through if you do any work with metals, like copper or brass. I'm going to 3D print a few with TPU filament that are thicker and stronger. That's my only complaint. It's a well designed and well made vice that clamps onto most tops - it needs about 3" of depth to clamp well and give the handle room to spin. This is a very versatile vise. I like that it can be moved around a d clamped to different surfaces and that the angle of the vose can be adjusted due to the ball joint. I have a couple of other vises that are more heavy duty, but they are permanently bolted to work benches and can't be moved around and are more limited on the angles that objects can be held at. If you need a standard heavy duty vise that will always be kept in the same spot, this may not be the vose for you, but if you need something that is versatile and can be moved around and clamped to different work surfaces, this vise is a great option. ... show more
