Overall a good camera. I am quite satisfied first because the product that I got is what it is advertised. Maybe it sounds like kind of obvious, but i found that many products in described features (or emphasize them) in ways that are not quite what you get. In this case, the claims and description of the seller are what I got and I am very pleased. After a weeks of 24/7 continuous use , the battery was still at 40% which is not bad at all. The camera turns off when there is no motion detected so the durability of battery charge is variable. In my case, I left it in video and picture mode all the time and about 10-15 videos were taken in 24 hour periods. So the camera was on several times, still there was quite a bit of charge left. So an this aspect where it operated very well. Note that I cannot say much about the life of the battery (that is how many recharges will take) since I have not owned that long. I mention this because the battery cannot be replaced, so I guess this is one aspect to be evaluated. Video quality at day and night was very good , better than I expected. I used the app to download to my phone and then cast to my TV or move to my computer. All these operations were quite easy (if you are already familiar on how to do these things). Pictures and video were really nice and allow me to discover more wildlife in my backyard than I ever thought. I bought the camera with the intention of checking out wildlife visiting my yard and it did not disappoint . I really like it. the option to extract the SIM card (it comes with a generous sized card 32G) Overall I am very satisfied with it and I will probably buy a second one. I have another trail camera but I hate how it goes through its eight AA batteries so quickly. It was also a pain to have to bring it or its memory card inside to plug into my PC to view photos. The MAXDONE camera is so easy to use. I love that I can connect to it wirelessly to both see its placement before I record as well as to view images and videos. I did have issues in the beginning because I discovered that it illuminates solid objects in front of it at night so I make sure to place it so things like plants or my license plate (when I'm trying to film rodent activity under my car) aren't right in front of it. Placing it higher than the ground in some instances also works better. I also played with some settings and that helped. I reached out to customer support a couple of times and they were very responsive and supportive. I'm very impressed by how they stand behind their product. Updated review October 2024: Customer service was responsive & addressed my concerns and I have adjusted my rating accordingly. That said, IR image captures were never retrievable for download from wifi connection, though the others were. Was eventually able to view & transfer them directly from the SD card but removing the card to even *view* the night footage is not what I wanted. Hopefully this and other issues will be corrected for future purchasers. Original review September 2024: Headline: Some quirks, IR image captures irretrievable - no good for night! Overview: image quality and detection good - picks up the critters, generally doesn’t trigger for wind or light artifacts. water resistance good. mounting, ok. software - poor. Several seem like easy fixes. wish they would bc it’s otherwise a good camera. they could pay a dev a minor amount to fix these couple issues and be 5*. If not for the night capture failures, It would be still 3.5-4 stars even with the other issues, but that makes it unusable. I really wanted to like this and initially did.... until the first nighttime capture, when I realized that I would have to replace it :-( Cons/quirks: Hardware: will ONLY charge from a 5v charger and in the OFF position - not test or on. For me it lasts about 9 days with normal use. Software issues: *can’t get rid of info bar that overlaps pic and shrinks the visible area. this should be an option in settings - to have the bar either gone or OFF the actual camera viewing area of the image. Choosing what goes on the bar would be nice too but mainly need to have option of it not obstructing the actual image. *won’t auto detect and record while you’re viewing or downloading images. *connecting to the camera only works from the “camera” tab - which isn’t intuitive but once you find it it’s fine. connecting from the gallery option to do so fails every time. There is also no option to connect from the home screen, although DISCONNECT is an option once connected. This isn’t a loss of stars - just inconvenient & bad programming. *Doesn’t start recording with the detection/ there’s a noticeable delay from the first movement to when the video starts, which is disappointing and has definitely lost some good shots for me. *Once I got it running, and in place I unfortunately discovered that any pics on IR\night mode just …. won’t load off the hot spot. they look like they’re there, but will not download. This is a MAJOR FLAW. Makes it basically unusable for night. Haven't checked to see if they are accessible direct from SD card but I don't want to take that out each time and have a laptop on hand to read it, so… this is a deal breaker -I definitely need a different camera😭 Mounting - kinda weird, have to fully remove to charge. Not the greatest system - the strap is ok but there’s no ability to tilt it other than wedging with that system. Could be better. ... show more

It takes great video and the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the light for night videos doesn't extend very far from the camera so some ares are too dark.
