This shampoo smells so good, cleans and moisturizes...unfortunately, it also caused huge amounts of my hair to break and fall out. As I was brushing through it after I washed it, I could literally feel strands breaking off. This had not happened before I used it and within one week of quitting it, the breakage and hair loss reduced by about 75%. So far…I really like this product. I’m old. My hair has changed. Due to health issues and medications, I think,…mixed with stress…during my 76 yrs of living. I find that this product has helped my hair to be less dry..and it feels a bit more dense, to me. This moisturizer has a very nice light fragrance and doesn’t affect my allergies either, so that’s a plus for me.     • Caused terrible hair loss

I really wanted to like this because it had a nice smell and my hair felt so soft after using it. However, about 10 days into using this shampoo my scalp was super itchy all the time and I started losing about 10x the amount of hair I normally do. Normally I shed a good bit, but usually after about the 3rd time of running my hands through my hair, nothing comes out. with this, I would lose about 10-12 strands EVERY SINGLE TIME I would lightly run my finger through my hair. I also had to clean out my hair brush every single time I brushed my hair. I am on my 4th day after I stopped using the shampoo and I notice that I am not losing as much hair now. ... show more

    • Gentle cleansing for No-Poo

I tried joining the No-Poo movement years ago, and after a year of rinsing and waiting, (and putting my greasy hair in braids and ponytails) I finally accepted defeat- my hair is simply to fine and my scalp too oily for it to work for me. My sister who was studying cosmetology at the time told me her instructor taught most people over-shampoo, but you can never over-condition, so on a whim I tried using just conditioner in my hair- and miracle of miracles, the conditioner carried away all the oils, leaving my hair soft, but full of moisture! Fast forward about five years, and and one baby who drinks my bath water later, and I found myself wanting to find a cleaner, more natural conditioner or other No Poo option- but everything I found was $16+, and I can't swing that. After giving up the search as hopeless, I stumbled on this product, and it has been fantastic! I still try to wait till baby has left the bath before using it, but don't feel nearly so stressed if she does have a swallow or two. It is a couple dollars cheaper than my previous conditioner, smells light and clean, and still leaves my hair silky while rinsing away excess oils. I tried two of the formulas- this Bamboo fibers is technically a bit too rich for my ultra fine hair, but hasn't caused any problems, and if I have to use a scented product, it's clean bright scent is my favourite. I also got the white bottle, (Apuati or something?) which is a lighter weight, and ideal for my hair type, and I like it, but in the end I prefer the bamboo scent. Regarding complaints about it being too thick, I find that it IS difficult to get out- so I hold the bottle by the bottom, and swing it down a couple times, using centrifugal force to move the cream to the mouth of the bottle, and then it is easy-peasy to dispense just the right amount with a light squease. Alternatively, one could perhaps add a small amount of water, but then you are messing with the balance of preservatives, and could encourage bacterial growth, so swinging seems the safer choice to me- although at the end of a bottle I do add water, just to get the last two or three servings out. All told, I am really enjoying this product, and will definitely continue to subscribe & save. ... show more

    • Works Well - Has Odd Smell

My hair was very weak, dry and falling out and I needed something to help restore it quickly. I refuse to pay salon prices for hair product anymore and tried this. It really is deeply moisturizing, foams up thickly, and left my hair shinier, soofter and even a bit thicker looking after just a couple uses. I had read several reviews and while I agree it works well, I’m not crazy about the smell. AT ALL. A lot of people said they loved it and it smells great and fresh. Maybe I haven’t smelled as much bamboo as they have, but I found the smell to be very sour and odd. More like dirty, murky bamboo water. I tolerate the smell because it works so well and maybe I’ve become more used to it. I don’t smell it once my hair is dried, but it sure took me back when I first smelled it and smells nothing like other products, that’s for sure! The one on the left is from the store and on the right is Amazon. You can see the one from the store says “crafted in the USA” and the one from Amazon says “made in USA with U.S. and/or imported ingredients” I bought this because the one I got from the store was running out. When I opened the one from Amazon, it was a completely different color and smelled like vinegar. The one from the store is more white and smells amazing. and the one from Amazon is clear and smells like vinegar. The labels look almost identical. ... show more

Product seems to be good, but the packaging was bad... as you can see from the images the product was leaking out from the top. Not a lot luckily, but a little sketchy that there was no inner seal on the product to prevent this from happening, and to me, more importantly, TAMPERING. I still gave 4* as the product seems to be legit, but who am I to say that it's not a knock off... I've never used the stuff before. And most similar products I've purchased so have an inner seal to prevent spilling/tampering (that said, not all do). In the end, after the first use, am pretty pleased with the results compared to price. If any more had leaked out I'd certainly been in a return situation and wouldn't have tried, leaving a 1* review. ... show more
