Was an Eco Styler gel kinda gal but have left it behind for this. I use on damp hair and it has the right amount of hold without stickiness. I add gel AFTER my fave curl cream and Fructis Sleek & Shine Moroccan Oil Treatment in the orange container and my hair is set for the whole day. Keeps the crunchiness to a minimum and gives a lovely shine. Bonus points for only having to spray my hair with water the next day and fluff & separate quickly for the curls come right back (see photo after water only application 2nd day). Smells great too. I like that it Doesn’t leave flakes, smells good and it’s vegan. What I don’t like is the price. It’s ridiculous! Luckily I found this before the price sky rocketed but if it stays that way, unfortunately I will be looking for a different product.

As a mom who has a son with curly hair this product is great. When my son uses this cream his curls look healthier and are more defined. The only problem is the value for the amount you pay you don’t get very much.

I love the smell, consistency, and affects of this product on my hair. I always use an oil after applying products to lock in moisture. Leaves my hair soft, low frizz, and extra defined. overall 10/10 product, great for everyday styling, and I would recommend. ( it worked for my low porosity hair)

I have very curly hair, dyed , & a bit dry . I’m Caucasian. I love a gel that defines my curls & keeps them frizz free . This product smells awesome but left my hair a frizzy mess & my curls flat . It might not be the product for my hairs texture .

I’ve been using Maui Moisture conditioner and shampoo lines for a couple of years now (curly girl method = no ‘cones or sulfates), but this is the first time I’ve used this curl gel. I bought the mousse at the same time and used it a few times before giving this gel a try today. The mousse was fine but a bit light for my hair. It looked soft and a bit flat and frizzy. I read this Curl Quench was heavier/thicker and today was a shampoo day so I decided “what the heck.” It took a while to dry, but once I scrunched out the casts — holy smokes! My curls are a mix of 2b, 2c, and 3a, and now my new gray parts are so loose they’re practically in the 1 category. It looks like this Curl Quench is even getting those straighter gray spots to behave themselves. Since today was a shampoo day, my hair was already a bit "lighter/drier" than usual. I can't wait to see how my curls react tomorrow! Curly friends with thicker hair, especially curls that misbehave: this might be your product! The first two photos are right after I scrunched (casts were still a tiny bit damp). The third photo was about 10 hours later to show how the curls fluffed out. Tomorrow I'm going to be a lot more careful how I twist to make sure the curl pattern is better -- there were some crazy pieces, but I think that was me being sloppy when it was still wet. I'm not used to "super hold." *Update* I discovered a slight downside: this product really doesn’t rinse out very well and so there is buildup after a few days (I have to re-wet my curls every morning). I loooove this gel. My favorite part is that for refresh days (day 2,3,4…) all I have to do is spray water. The gel reactivates, I scrunch the curls up, diffuse real fast and scrunch out the crunch. No need to apply more product!!! It creates a good cast, highly recommend scrunching it out with a satin or silk fabric for best results. I am a minimalist and don’t like having to depend on 100 beauty products. Maui moisture has been a lifesaver since I’ve been learning how to care of my hair after 27 years of living and having no idea. I use their Curl Quench Moisturizing Shampoo, the Lightweight Flaxseed Conditioner (which I only half wash out), and then this gel. Hover diffuse first, then target your roots, and then the ends. This helps to keep frizz away cause you want the cast to form before you start messing with your hair and moving it around. I tried more expensive and natural products like UnderLuna and Curlsmith but it did not work for me. Maui products are cheap and I’d say the ingredients aren’t too bad. Definitely worth a try. Also FYI this gel has sparkles in it but it does not show up in your hair (!!) it’s just a cute touch. ... show more

I have ordered from this producer two times because I love the Maui Moisture gel. On both occasions I have received the wrong product. I’m not sure how this continues to happen, but I am extremely frustrated with this seller. Beware before ordering!!
