Used this conditioner after the Brass off shampoo. I have white hair(used to be ash blond) which can get very dry and hard to style. This conditioner gives the shampoo added boost for styling. Tones down the white( looks a bit more ash blonde now). I will continue to use.

This conditioner is a very pastel blue, with a tad bit of gray. Blue neutralizes orange while violet neutralizes yellow. But blue will do nothing for yellow/gold and violet will do nothing for orange. The term “brassy” is often misused. It actually refers to one or more tones of “warmth”: orange, gold/yellow and a combo of the two, known to professionals as “blorange”. The “remedy” for each tone of warmth (yellow/gold OR orange OR a combination of the two) is different. If your hair has orangey tones, a blue shampoo/conditioner can work wonders. If your hair has yellow/gold tones, a purple shampoo/conditioner is a godsend. If your hair has both gold AND orangey tones, to cancel out these tones, you’ll need to mix blue AND violet. My hair is actually white (mostly natural at this point) and due to our hard water (as in high mineral content) my hair can turn both yellowy AND orangey, it really just depends. So in my tinted product arsenal, I use purple, blue AND gray shampoos/conditioners in order to keep the white nice and bright. Of course, each brand of tinted product has a different level of pigmentation. Some are quite dark while others are more along pastel lines. A tinted shampoo is almost always more pigmented than it’s matching tinted conditioner but I’ve found that I get the very best results by using both. Even though the tinted conditioner may be much more pale in comparison, it does add that little bit of extra oomph. However, using the tinted conditioner alone rarely does much of anything. This blue conditioner is very pale and therefore not a good toning option used solo. But for regular upkeep when a tinted product of some kind is used every wash, it’s sometimes sufficient. I do love the scent of this blue conditioner and it’s a great 2nd step after the Brass Off blue shampoo. But for more toning strength, I recommend Fanola No Orange shampoo (although it is quite drying). You can also make whatever strength of tinted conditioner you need by diluting any semi permanent formula with white conditioner or a white mask and in so doing get any level of pigmentation you’d like. I dilute Pulp Riot’s pastel blue semi permanent color (the best pro brand of semi permanent color in existence) with white conditioner but sometimes throw in a lightly pigmented blue conditioner like Brass Off too. This concoction has far more toning ability than any “ready made” tinted conditioner and any shade (or combo of shades) can be used. This is basically exactly what the brand Overtone is. As for ready made tinted products, my favorite brands are Celeb Luxury, Joico and Matrix. But the best products for maintaining white or silver hair are the Redken Graydient shampoo (which is purple) and Graydient conditioner (which is blue-gray). My apologies for no before and afters. My hair was So Yellow I didn't think to take a pic. I went for the platinum look from a box. Then once dry I applied (with gloves) Matrix total results brass off shampoo to dry roots. Let it sit for about 25 mins. Then had to repeat the dry application process one more time the next time I showered and it worked PERFECTLY!! VERY HAPPY WITH MY PLATINUM END RESULT thanks to this shampoo! However, it does tend to feel a bit dry after using it but to be fair look what we are putting in our hair to get these results! I used a fantastic Hair Masque by Shea Moisture my next cpl showers and it couldn't feel better LOVE BOTH them products and will keep them in stock for next time!! PERFECT RESULTS!!!! ... show more
