  • This bike makes riding mountain bike trails accessible to everyone
It was super easy to put together. It did take me about 45 minutes or so to put it together, but that's just because I had zero experience. The bike itself is absolutely amazing it is perfect. I love it more than anything. However, if you are doing particularly difficult trails, you will probably want to replace the tires for some better climbing tread. The tread that comes on the tires is meant for hard pack and light off-road. It absolutely is a climbing beast but you'll want some better tires for traction. The disc brakes that come on it are also very good. I found that I wore down the back brakes pretty quickly, but that's not really a big deal because they're pretty simple to replace the pads. Honestly, if you're on the fence about buying this bike, don't be. I have had it for about a month now and I have ridden it over some of the toughest trails that I go on on my 29-in bike and honestly this thing has clobbered them. It's worth noting that there is a learning curve to riding it. It's not a very difficult learning curve but it is definitely there. If there's anything bad about this bike it would be that it might make you feel a little bit overconfident and have you writing trails you have no business being on. If you're trying to do mountain bike downhills with jumps and crazy crap like that I would not use this bike for that. I can't imagine that the jolts would do very well for the electronics. Additionally if you are doing that kind of writing you need a very lightweight expensive mountain bike that is built for that purpose, this is not intended for that. Thankfully this one works so well that I'm going to end up ordering another one for my girlfriend so that she can do the easy mountain bike trails with me, and my brother can borrow it and do the hard stuff with me. So far I could not be happier, and it makes me excited to ride it. ... show more

  • this thing is freaking awesome
Color: White
this thing is freaking awesome. This is my first E bike and I was completely amazed for $700. This thing gets up to 20 mph effortlessly i weight 211 pounds And it felt like I was flying, super easy to assemble less than 20 minutes the battery last pretty long I did 16 miles and still have more than half of the battery left. I give it five stars out of five I don’t have any complaints the horn work the lights work FYI if you like speed you will immediately want a faster bike but 20 miles is still super fun. last but not least I would not let a kid under 15yr old anywhere near this thing. ... show more

  • Please reference notes below
I have not ridden the bike enough yet to rate it. I have a road bike as well and I find the Mate to have different balance that will require some time for adjustment. Assembly was easy, but the instructions were limited. The power works very well! I will certainly ask questions as needed. Thank you for this opportunity to comment. ... show more

  • This is a perfect bike for the price
Color: White
My neighbor has a 5000 dollar ebike which is the Mercedes Benz of electric bikes. This is a Hyundai. It is light and quick and reasonabily priced. I wish I knew how to break the speed governor but thats it. Its perfect entry level ride.

  • Work’s Great
Color: White
I actually bought two of these. The first when went together very easy and worked fabulous on the test ride. The second had a bent fork and I couldn’t get the front tire on. It was fairly easy to straighten out with a crescent wrench and some elbow grease. My only fear was how easy it was to bend back makes me think the forks may be an issue in the future. All together they seem to be good quality and the paint jobs look great. No adjustment needed on the selector, it worked great out of the box. That’s a first for me. They have good power and pulled me up some pretty steep hills in my neighborhood. I’m impressed since I weigh about 260. ... show more

  • No major issues, all claims seem true, good value ebike.
Assembly is easy, as I did not need to use the instructions. I have not tried other ebikes, but the acceleration makes me think it is 1000w peak. It maxes out to 20 mph in 4 to 5 seconds. Sometimes it gives power over 20mph, but they seem cautious about being under the legal limit (there may be a way to override it though). There is a slight lag between pedaling and the assist, but it is manageable, and you can also use the throttle. The issues are that the shocks seem to have a lot of friction, but this isn't a serious mountain bike. The light works, but it doesn't have a great field of view. The biggest thing that makes me worry is the battery appears to be mounted lopsided; However, it seems solid otherwise, so my best guess is that its not going to be an issue. All in all, this is a capable ebike for $700. ... show more

  • Good bike with easy electric assist
Color: White
Performs well and the battery seems to last a long time. I wish the handlebars would raise taller so you didn’t have to bend over riding. It gets very uncomfortable.

  • Love it
Color: White
I have never rode or owned an ebike, so I was guessing when I bout it. It was super easy to put together, took less then an hour. So far I love this ebike. I live in a really windy town most days in north dakota. I didn't like riding bike much at all, but now I have pedal assist, so game on. I also love the accelerator part, because sometimes I just don't wanna peddle. My bike goes up to 20 mph, it doesn't matter if it's windy or not. It took me a tish to figure how to make the peddle assist and accelerator to work. Make sure the brakes are completely off, if so the accelerator and assist don't work at all. This is a great bike absolutely love it. ... show more
