  • Small but powerful.
When looking for a new grill to purchase came across this one. Was a little concerned about the size (btu’s) thought I’d give it a try. Couldn’t be happier after using it. Heats up quick and for small time grilling family of 1-3 would highly recommend it. You can use a regular size tank or small canister for camping or tailgating. Only takes about 3 minutes to heat up to 350*. 👍👍 ... show more

  • Small gas grill for the fam
Although I've stood next to or cooked on many backyard grills, of many different varieties, I've never owned a propane-powered grill. Many a charcoal-powered grill has been yelled at by me, mind you. We had a perfect place for a small grill and with summer having arrived, were more than ready to start grilling. This Master Cook grill was shipped promptly, packaged perfectly, and was quite easy to assemble following the instructions. You mainly need to assemble the stand... with the grill itself being shipped mostly intact. Note that the grill could be detached from the stand and used on a table top if desired. You have two options for propane, a wire hoop that helps hold the 16oz bottle in place, or a spot underneath the grill for the larger propane tank, with an adapter hose designed to reach down there. As for the actual grilling, make note of the cooking surface. It is small. ~18"x14". I think I could fit 6 baked potatoes on there and not have room for anything else. Sorry, grilled potatoes.... Lighting is a one-step process.. push and turn the dial, which clicks and lights the burners. Like a kitchen stove. You've got an old-school thermometer built into the lid, which maxes out at 350. Frankly, I haven't been able to get it up to 350. Maybe 275, tops. And it quickly loses a tremendous amount of heat when you open the lid. There is a vent in the back of the lid which seems pretty large to me. It seems to me like I should be able to slide a panel over those vents to decrease their size, to increase the heat if desired. As it is, it's a reasonably-priced, well-built small grill that has the added benefit of being trasportable. 4.4 stars. ... show more

  • Grillerrific!
When putting this grill together, I wasn't terribly impressed. I thought I might rate it 4-stars tops, as long as it cooked decently. It's on the small side. Works well for me, my wife and my kid, but I'm not going to easily cook burgers for the whole neighborhood. After cooking on it for the first time, my opinion changed for the better, and I decided to go with 5-stars until I find a reason not to. The grill is pretty easy to assemble. Took me about 45 minutes with no help at all, including the time to unbox. There are times when it would help to have someone hold things in place while you screw pieces together. You can use a either a small, 1 lb propane tank, or one of the big guys, which is awesome, as far as making this portable. The whole grill assembly attaches to the base with two clips. It's easy to put it on and take it off. Twisting the knob to turn it on ignites the gas. It cooks very well. Doesn't seem like it will get as hot as larger grills, but it'll hit 350-400 on high, at least, and so far, it seems to cook evenly, with no obvious hot spots. It's super efficient with the propane, too. I can make it through my entire grilling season (from about April through September) on one large tank of propane, and that's cooking at least a couple times a week, usually. I have a few criticisms, but they aren't enough to lower my review. The wheels aren't great. They're wobbly and I don't fully trust them to not fall off. The legs without the wheels have rubber caps that just want to keep falling off. There's no way to adjust air flow. There's only one large vent in the back which can't be closed. The bottom ring for a large propane tank is a little too wide, making the tank sit crooked. If you turn the screw to tighten, it hits the rounded bottom section of the tank, which lifts it up instead of tightening. Overall, the materials just don't seem to be great quality, though this ends up being sturdy enough when fully assembled. But I really don't expect this to last more than a few years, if used often. Despite these small problems, I fully recommend this if you want a small gas grill, especially if you want to bring it places. ... show more
