  • Great set up with a couple of issues.
Size: Copper heatsinks Edition
Both the CPU fan and the case itself are secured with very simple nuts and bolts. That makes it very easy, but because the nuts are tightened down into the plastic case they keep coming loose. They need to supply a simple locking nut instead, so you didn't drop anything metal down into the case and short circuit it. Other than that it is very well made and looks cool too. Packaged extremely well and instructions are good enough for anyone buying a development board. If you can't put this together and get it working then return it and buy yourself some Lego instead :) I love it and I have traveled 1,000s of miles with it in my computer bag. Airport security are a bit baffled by it, but I tell them it is a mini computer and they seem happy with it. I would expect it to get swabbed at security if you do take it as hand luggage, but this clear box makes it obvious that what is inside is safe. ... show more

  • The assembly
Size: Copper heatsinks Edition
Assembly was a little wonkie but it was supper fun. It's tuffer than you think but still be very careful as the parts are not made of steel and do break

  • Don't Buy - Better starter Kits out there
Size: Copper heatsinks Edition
This is a terrible design. I would give it a 1, but it did include all parts as advertised. The case is complicated to put together. The instructions are very small and hard to read. There are no instructions for mounting the cooling fan. No video instructions available either by either the manufacturer or Youetube.. I am going to toss the case and just buy a new, simpler case with proper fan mounts. I have bought multiple starter kits and this one by FAR was the worst to assemble. I still can't figure out how to mount the fan. I see tiny letter "Support Active Cooler Not Included". So it appears they give you an active cooling fan with no way to mount it One of the 4 fan screws was a "blank". Meaning, it has no screw grooves. It came with 4 bolts, so I assume it was supposed to have grooves. I bought this because it was $10 cheaper than the other starter kits, bad mistake. Pay a bit more and get a fully functional case with proper fan mounts. Stay away from this one. ... show more

  • Works as expected, good price
Size: Copper heatsinks Edition
Is a computer with the addition of keyboard, mouse, and a HDMI display with 128 Gig memory. All software is free and will be constantly updated as risks and improvement are made. Great for a beginner.

  • Pi starter kit
Size: Active Cooler Edition
I would say this is giftable. Some kits have more add on items, but this has the basics, case, power supply, and video cables. The newer Pi5 has 2 video outs, but still not enough USB power. I constantly get the shutting down USB over current messages. Why put 4 USB ports when it can only handle lowest power devices like SD card readers? The touchscreen from my Pi 3 takes more USB current than the Pi 5 puts out? ... show more

  • Not as pictured! Picture of assembled unit has different fan and heat sinks.
Size: Copper heatsinks Edition
The fan and heat sinks in main picture of the assembled unit are totally different. I found the case to be a tricky to assemble. And it would be a real headache if you plan to install screens and cameras. The instructions are tiny, and have no mention on mounting the fan, or direction. The power chord is very short. Also the memory card came with the 32 bit version OS, the 64 bit OS is much faster. If your going to Tinker and add and remove screens and camera's I'd go with a different case. If your just going to assemble once its okay. ... show more
