There are over 700 tiny pieces split into several different bags (see pics above for an idea). You'd think the pieces would be separated in a distinguishable manner in conjunction with the manual for each robot to make assembly straightforward, right? WRONG. The pieces are randomly disbursed and are very difficult to differentiate from one another. There are several pieces that are similar in shape but of different size and as shown in the pictures above, you're not given any direction on what the sizes could be but just shown a picture of the shape and how many of each are needed. We tried to find a correlation between the numbers on the bags and the directions for each robot but there was not a logical sequence to follow thus rendering the instructions useless and assembly unnecessarily difficult. I cannot speak of the functionality as my nephew unfortunately gave up (was his first time using a lego like puzzle and instead of it being a fun experience, it was a frustrating one). The quality seemed decent but without knowing what pieces you're actually supposed to use, the whole idea of building this becomes unenjoyable. If you have good eyes, like complex puzzles and have the patience/time to sift through over 700 tiny pieces to match the instructions, this may actually be fun for you! But if you were looking for something with useful directions and wanted this to be more of a therapeutic-straightforward-I-will-make-consistent-progress-on-this type of experience, this is not for you. So depending on what kind of child (or adult) you are gifting this to, this could either be 5 stars or 0 stars. I gave it two stars instead of one because the quality seems like its OK (and this could be fun for the right person) but it was really awful learning that my nephew didn't enjoy his gift and after he showed me I immediately understood why. If I lived closer and had the time I'd try building it with him but I dont have that luxury. Unfortunately since he opened one of the bags with a bunch of pieces I don't think I can return this either so this was just a waste of money all around :( ... show more
