I like this holder a LOT. This is definitely an improvement over the older non-pro version. The "leads" are a bit thicker than the previous model so lines are a little less crisp, but the sharpener is a lot better and screws into the end of the marker so you don't lose it by accident. The slim design is very helpful for marking holes in tight places for drilling, cutting, or otherwise. The advancing function also behaves like an actual mechanical pencil would, as opposed to just releasing the lead and letting it slide freely. I've mostly used the silver streak inserts with this. The others work fine and dandy but the silver marks the best on metal. These leads are a little more brittle than the thinner leads from the old version of the marker, so they seem to break slightly easier. This may be due to the increased width. But I do like my overly expensive plastic version better. Only because I can drop it without breaking the lead. Having said that, this is my fav because of how it feels in my hand.

Its really fragile but works well. The crayon colors show up great, but will break the point off easy. I barely have any tip showing past the actual pen. I just wish it was a little sturdier.

I was in an aerial lift about 10-15 ft off the ground and it fell out of my pocket and the metal shaft of the pencil broke. Otherwise it was an amazing pencil.

As a carpenter and contractor for the past 19 years, and having used just about every marking tool on the market, this is by far the best I've come across. It is very well constructed, seems like it will endure abuse and drops. The only negatives or potential issues I see would be the pocket clip as it is metal also, and I imagine after tons of uses it may break, not sure if replacement clips are available. Also the graphite refills from the manufacturer are a little pricey ( I think I paid like 12+$ for 6 refills) but there are many refill options from red to silver to graphite, so just about any trade will find use for this marking tool. The long narrow tip and built in sharpener help accurately get those hard to reach places! Highly recommend this product. ... show more
