Great honey, bottle not so much

I love this honey, even though it's expensive. I think it has helped me. But the lid of the jar is a nightmare to open. I don't have much hand strength, and tried using pliers to twist it off, which hurt my hand, but the pliers kept slipping off. I had to buy a battery-operated jar opener to get it o
pen. Now that I have that, I hope it will continue to work for future purchases. The trouble opening the jar is why I took off 1 star.

My husband was recently diagnosed with MRSA, which appeared as a blister/boil on his forearm. Doctors lanced it, drained it, and put him on the proper antibiotic, but it left a deep, open wound on his arm. I mean deep, like it seemed large enough to stick your thumb in! I didn't really know much abou
t MRSA before all this, but I've read everything I could since then. I kept seeing Manuka honey praised for it's healing properties, as well as the fact that it seemed to kill MRSA. Those that had used it, swore by it. Well, now I do too!!! We started applying the honey in my husbands wound on a Friday afternoon. I did this in addition to using Hibiclens. I gloved, cleaned the wound, re-applied the honey, changed the bandages each day. By Monday (3 DAYS!), the wound was almost closed - no kidding! I would not have believed it if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes. This is one product that I will keep on hand from now on! As an aside - The sad part for me is that the doctors didn't seem overly concerned - kept telling us "MRSA is everywhere now, you can catch it anywhere" .When we would ask about chance of recurrence, or spreading it it others in our household, they basically said, yes, it might happen, might not. They were not being aggressive enough in my opinion in helping us prevent this. No one ever told us about de-colonizing ourselves. In my reading, I saw that the people with the most success in beating this back for good used a combination of Hibiclens wash to shower in for 10 days, disinfecting all towels, bedding, surfaces in home, and of course, the Manuka honey for wound treatment. There is also research that shows the MRSA like to colonize in the nose, so during this same time, you should also apply Bactroban in the nasal cavities each day for up to a month. This is also something that the doctors didn't tell us, or offer. When I asked about getting a prescription, he actually said, "Yes, we could do that to de-colonize the nases"! I mean, if they KNOW this will help prevent the spread and possible re-occurrence, why should I have had to ask about it at all? I swear, I am not a "conspiracy" type person, but it almost made me wonder if they are not all being so lax about this epidemic because of the incomes generated? I am sure, once all is said and done, my husband's insurance will have paid about $3000 for his treatment and follow up visits, as well as the $90 in co-pays we have paid already. What's their motive for trying to prevent this from happening again or from giving it to someone else? Take control of your own treatment plans, be aggressive in treating, and learn all you can about what you're facing. You are your family's best advocate. Good luck!

This is great Manuka Honey

This honey has excellent medicinal properties. It's easy to store and taste great. It helped repair my lip at one time when I bit it and got a bump that didn't want to do away. I would purchase again.

Awesome honey, Tastes great as well as great for rashs and many other things.

This honey is really the BeesWax. It tastes great and you know when they say oh its antibacterial and blah blah blah. Well I actually tried it. And it worked, almost like a miracle. Here's what happened. Just came out of a Scope of my throat and upper GI tract looking to see if everything was okay. E
verything turned out find, but for some reason, the place where the lady put the IV - I developed a huge red rash. First I was worried it was infected as it didn't go away and only got worse. I used Alcohol on it, washed it with soap and water and done everything to clean and keep it clean and disinfect it. Nothing really seemed to work. Was about to go to the ER to check it out, but before I did - I suspected it was a rash so I wanted to try this out before i went. I took some of the honey on a wooden spatula stick, the ones they use for waxing and so forth and put all over my inner arm around the elbow area, but on the inside of the arm, that's where they put the IV. My family gave me this wierd look to confirm their long running suspicions that I was and had always been a bit crazy. I told them "but it says, antibacterial and so forth." They didn't say nothing just shook their heads. 5 minutes later i started seeing white spots underneath the honey where I had put it where I had had the red marks/rash. I thought oh oh - i probably made things worse. So I quickly went to the bathroom and washed my arm with soap and water. I looked at the rash and to my surprise and also delight it seemed about 30-40 of the rash already gone. I was like woh, that's cool. Don't need to go to the ER room, Went to sleep - woke up next morning. What can i tell you 90-95 of the red marks/rash had completely gone. I was amazed. There was still some little marks left, which also went away the next day. But it worked. You know when people dismiss you about natural remedies - shove this in their face and spread it on their rash and so forth and lets see what they say then. Great product, shame it so expensive, but what can you do. If you're gonna spend more money then you should. then spend it on this - it is worth every penny of its expensive price. That's the only thing i don't like about it, but I won't drop it a star because its so darn good.

I want to start by saying I'm NOT affiliated with the sellers of this product in any way. I bought it on my own accord. I have had Crohn's disease for 15 years now. I showed symptoms at 11 years old and developed a perianal fistula at age 14 that hasn't left. It's been a consistent source of pain and
embarrassment from the odor. I have been desperate for relief and decided to give manuka a try. I've been eating a spoonful twice a day as well as using gauze with some of the honey over a period pad. For the first time in nearly 10 years, the drainage has no scent. The drainage is also looser and is easier to express. I noticed the pain and inflammation feels like it's starting to go down and the skin is starting to shrink back. Words can't express how excited and happy I am. The flavor is a little odd but I have no problems eating it by itself. I can see it going well with fruits or yogurt. I'll come back and update if things change. TLDR; Its helping with my fistula caused by crohns. It tastes odd, but not bad. Will be buying more. 5/5

I bought this to treat a nasty open wound on my dog's leg. He is old (13), and has impaired mobility, so he tends to get sores on his legs, especially his hinds because of deteriorating spine and bad hips (German Shepherd). Anyway, he had an ulcer about the size of a nickel on his hind leg that would
n't heal. I would clean with hydrogen peroxide, put on antibacterial ointment, and wrap with gauze and petflex wrap. He was also on antibiotics for another condition, and I'd hoped it would also help this ulcer/sore. After 2 weeks, it got slightly bigger than a quarter, and just wasn't healing. I called my vet on the weekend and got an appointment for Monday. Well, that Saturday night, my dog tore into his own leg. Bloody, with exposed tendon and all. It was a horror show! It was all I could do to keep it clean until Monday. The vet was very shocked at how bad it was. Had my dog been younger and/or had better mobility, the possibility that the only treatment would be amputation was actually discussed. Amputation! That's how bad it was. But due to his age and poor mobility, all we could do was feed him more antibiotics, change the dressing daily, put an E collar on him, and just try to keep him from getting septic. My vet told me to dress the wound with Manuka honey, and with any luck, he'd be healing. Within 2 days of receiving this honey, there was a huge improvement. He'd had skin slippage - you could have slipped a dime under his skin like a pocket - healed! The redness and swelling started going down as well. We are close to 2 weeks using the manuka now coupled with antibiotics, and the tendon is no longer exposed. My vet said it would probably be at least 4 weeks for him to be healed, and even if it's not at 100% (I mean, he really chewed his leg up bad), we are well on our way. If you have an ulcer, open wound, etc that just won't heal, please try this. It has saved my dog's leg, and his life.

BEST brand of Manuka Honey out there for healing wounds!

I admit I was a skeptic. I have been diabetic for 35+ years and take Enbrel for rheumatoid arthritis, so I don't heal quite as well as most! I was using an ointment for my road rashed knees and feet (where I fell hard on asphalt), prescribed by my doctor - good for bacteria and staff. For a week, I u
sed the ointment, didn't get infected, but wasn't healing - scab remained the same size and HURT! I read all reviews, researched manuka honey for 3 days, then I ordered 4 types of Manuka from Amazon, luckily I tried this one first. BY FAR THIS IS BEST! Very thick consistency, light in color, and best of all, within 4 days of using it, my skin started growing again, the scab has shrunk from 2 inches in diameter to 1 and I have healthy pink skin growing back with NO INFECTION! I AM A BELIEVER! I tried the other honeys, but they were much thinner and darker.. :/ My best advice for large wounds is to get some gauze, put the honey on your wound and the gauze, put gauze over your wound and then cover the gauze with a large enough non stick pad with good tape. You have to put enough to cover the wound well, but too much, you will be leaking honey!! I also found on Amazon - Cavilon No Sting Barrier Film Wipes - GREAT for protecting your skin from the irritation of the tape. Amazing stuff. I believe God the Creator has provided all we need to live an sustain ourselves. Thank you Lord for this healing honey!! It is amazing! I have decided to eat the others that are thinner and darker in consistency - 2 - 3 times a day, just a tablespoon.. No food or drink 20 min before or after so you get the full power of it.. If it heals my outside wounds this well, I can only imagine what it will do for the inside!! I hope this helps.. and all the issues with packaging, none for me..
