The Magnavox brand originates back to 1917 when the World’s first moving coil speaker was invented in a lab in Napa, California. Due to this invention for the first time in human history the world witnessed a human voice that could be heard by an entire town. The product was named: Magnavox ~ Latin for ‘Great Voice’ It became a prime piece of US history and the foundation of a trusted brand for almost a century linked to dozens of notable achievements such as the first game console (Magnavox Odyssey) as well as World’s first plasma computer panels. Throughout the years Magnavox’s visual appearance took several forms relevant to its time. Ranging from multiple revisions of its initial appearance (the historic great voice featuring a lion’s head), a shield covering the history of the brand and its influence on entertainment, into a contemporary wordmark in 1982 and the wordmark it is today. The popularity of the Magnavox brand is as strong as ever before and its remarkable history attracts many fans and non-profit organizations.

  • Compact and easy to use
Color: Black
I use this player on my bedside table, as it's a handy compact size for a small space. It's easy to open, with no latch to press - you just lift the lid - and it's very easy to control the volume with a dial, rather than push-buttons. Most of our CDs are rewritables, and it plays them without skipping. As with any new device, you have to get used to the positions of the buttons for forward, reverse, pause, etc., but I can do that in the dark now, as they're on either side of the track display, which, by the way, has a comfortable level of light. There's also a port to connect to an external audio source such as a phone. Finally, the sound quality is good. So, yes, I'm satisfied. ... show more

  • Love it
Color: White
Sometimes I just like to listen to worship music when I'm lying in bed trying to drift off. I don't need speakers and stereo sound, so this is perfect sitting on my headboard. The sound quality isn't that good if you're listening to a teaching cd as the words don't come across too clearly. But it's great for music. ... show more

  • Practical, lightweight, & clear device
Color: Black
This is a practical portable, lightweight device. I don’t get all the radio stations I’d like to listen to, but for the price, it’s alright. The CDs work alright as well, not the best, but clear for what I need it for.

  • It certainly plays CD's just fine, but man those speakers...
Color: Black
This is definitely a CD player (and theoretically a radio, but I'm not using it for that). It's compact and looks fine. It plays audio CDs (but as far as I can tell, does not play MP3 CDs or anything). It has the worst speakers this side of the Dollar Tree. Muffled and somehow at the same time tinny. I can only describe it as "If I had to listen to music through these, I would hate music." thankfully I'm just using it to play lullabies for my kid at night and he doesn't seem to mind. I haven't tried the radio. I imagine it would have the same sound issues and the station uses a dial on the side with the number pressed into the dial so it seems kind of... difficult to tune but again, I haven't tried it since I don't need it... but if you need a radio I would recommend spending an extra three fiddy and getting something that shows the station on some kind of display... or at least a station BAR and not this dial. It has a little LED display but it only shows CD track numbers or the word "NO" when there's nothing loaded. Additionally there is no line out jack, so you can't connect it to better speakers. There IS a line-in jack if you have another device you want to play through this to punish yourself. Honestly, this is a music machine and it can only be used to listen to music poorly. Save your allowance, wait a week or two and get something better. ... show more

  • It's just so darn cute and small! We love it!
Color: Black
We bought this cute little player at a very reasonable price and we just love it! My son uses it to listen to books on CD from the library and it has never given us any problems. I wish one this tiny and cute had been around in the 90's when I was a kid!

  • Small size, big sound.
Color: Black
This Magnavox is a great replacement for my old Sony boombox from the 1990s. It is smaller in size, but the sound is quality. The old-style tuner is good because if the power goes out, I do not need to reprogram it to my favorite station.

  • Good value

I am very pleased with this radio/CD player. For the very reasonable price, the quality of the sound and the ease of use are very satisfactory.

  • No bells and whistles-does the job
Color: Black
I bought so I could leave the radio on at home for my cat while I'm at work. CD player nice to have since most cars don't have a player anymore and I have dozens of them. The sound is very basic. I don't feel it has the same quality of cassette and CD players Magnavox made in the 80s-90s. Don't expect JBL or Bose speaker type sound. The digital display only shows the tune number of the CD playing and not the radio station, which would be way more useful. The radio dial is a horizontal knob on the side. You have to turn the power on at the back to play a CD or radio. Basic, does the job. No Bluetooth on this model but you can plug an aux cable to another device. ... show more
