  • Exactly what I needed
Size: 88 Keys
This keyboard is just about the cheapest 88-key MIDI controller out there, and it serves the purpose exactly as designed. I've had zero experience with these devices previously, so I'm not sure if others out there are more compact, but, as you can see from the picture, it doesn't take up too much space on my DAW desk. The action is somewhere between a real piano and a non-weighted synth keyboard, making it fine for my needs. (I'm a sore excuse for a pianist -- if you are a real pianist with traditional grand piano feel expectations, you should spend more money.) Since it gets its power from the USB connection, you don't have yet another power chord to add to the inevitable technology snake pit. It supposedly comes with downloadable software allowing it to produce lots of great sounds through your computer, none of which I've tried (I have my own software), but know that this thing makes not a sound without that. ... show more

  • Excellent piano
Size: 88 Keys
Feels wonderful and is an absolute joy to play. Works out of the box with Logic Pro on an M1 Macbook, just plug it in and it works. If you want to get the record/play/stop buttons working you'll need to manually setup a new 'Control Surface' called "Mackie Control" in Logic settings and set the output to 'Keystation (MIDI)' and the input to 'Keystation (Transport)'. Luckily that's only a couple clicks, I just wish it were better documented somewhere. Can't beat the price, especially considering the quality. Will be using this keyboard for years to come. ... show more

  • I thought this was mediocre, until...
Size: 88 Keys
Using my old Reason 10 setup, I thought "Sigh, yep. I definitely got what I paid for. Cheap piano for a cheap price. At least I have 88 keys!" But YOU NEED to use a good sample set! This piano DOES support a LOT of range/expression. You NEED to make sure your digital instrument supports all the levels of expression that this thing offers! For example, yes Reason 10 itself supports 128 levels of expression. However, the sample-set/instrument I was using clearly only had 4 different levels. When I just-so-happened to get the Mini-Grand instrument set up (not gonna lie, the setup is a pain and you do NOT get the actual MIDI instrument for free when it comes to your DAW, you just get the standalone EXE) I realized that this piano sounds BEAUTIFUL under the right conditions. So make sure you save an extra 100 dollars or so for a good sample set! Cheers. ... show more

  • 88 Key is a big boi, but a good boi
Size: 88 Keys
I like this keyboard controller and had my eye on it for a while for both creating music in FL Studio 20 Pro Edition and also for general jamming and practice. I live in a small apartment where a full sized piano isn’t as feasible, which means a desktop sized input is easier to use. Overall the keyboard is huge (I got the 88 key) but kind of worth it because I don’t need to use the octave controls much. It connects seamlessly to the M-Gear SP-2 Sustain Pedal also by M-Audio and the sustain applies also to any plugins that support it. I have not noticed any sticking keys, keys that make odd noises (like squeaking) or anything like that. I did notice that it needs a custom map to be used in FL Studio as a controller. It works natively as an MIDI input device. As someone who plays several instruments (piano, guitar, bass, clarinet, ukulele, violin and more) this is one of the most useful tools I’ve purchased in the last three years so far. The software suite can be worth downloading if you have the time, hard drive space, and especially if you are just starting out and don’t have a DAW yet (Avid Pro Tools is an industry standard DAW used by pro recording studios). One of the things I liked the most is that the included standalone VST instruments can be opened using a desktop shortcut so you can use this keyboard as a normal instrument without even installing a DAW as well. Definitely recommend this product and I plan on purchasing a new expression pedal compatible with the keyboard and my guitar effects pedal at some point in the near future. ... show more

  • 88 keys and touch sensitive. Works with Playground Sessions
Size: 88 Keys
Was looking for a keyboard to work with my piano software - Playground Sessions. I'd ran out of notes with my old M-Audio keyboard in the songs I wanted to play. Looked at all the great electronic brands - Roland, Yamaha, etc. Wanted to make sure the keyboard was responsive to how hard I played. Just couldn't justify the high prices. Even the M-Audio Hammer was above my budget. Saw this 88 MK keyboard and felt like it would fit my niche especially since I already knew it worked with the software. Haven't looked back on the purchase. Am very happy with the keyboard's performance. Probably the hardest thing is figuring out where to use it since there isn't a stand. There are a lot of good stands out there and in the beginning, it goes great on a long table. Remember there is no audio built in - it is midi only. Will need to connect to a computer or other device with USB. USB powers it so no reason to plugin to a wall outlet. Also, there are sustain pedals available, but they are not included. ... show more

  • An excellent 88-note keyboard!
Size: 88 Keys
As a piano tuner and technician, and longtime piano player, I've always avoided getting a digital keyboard. When a recent series of projects called for me to invest in a decent keyboard, I did some homework and decided to try this one. I wanted a full 88-note with weighted keys, direct USB connection to my computer to run my piano synth and midi software. This little gem is fantastic, and at a great price point. No digital keyboard will ever replace the acoustic piano, but this is a terrific interface and when paired up to a nice piano synth, it is way beyond adequate. ... show more
