  • Prefect for beginners.
Style: Audio Interface
Here's my take on this entry-level audio interface from a novice perspective. Firstly, the setup process was refreshingly simple. The AudioBox 96 is USB-powered, and connecting it to my computer was as easy as plug-and-play. The included Studio One Artist software, while offering powerful features, was surprisingly user-friendly for someone just starting out. The quick start guide provided clear instructions, making the initial setup smooth and hassle-free. The build quality of the AudioBox 96 is robust, giving a sense of durability despite its compact size. The metal chassis feels solid, and the controls have a reassuring responsiveness. This is particularly beneficial for someone like me who's still learning the ropes and may not be as gentle with their equipment. The two combo mic/instrument inputs are perfect for a beginner's setup. They accommodated my dynamic microphone and electric guitar with ease, and the 48V phantom power was a welcome addition for future microphone upgrades. The clear LED indicators helped me monitor input levels, avoiding the common pitfalls of recording too hot or too low. The audio quality exceeded my expectations. The 24-bit resolution and 96 kHz sampling rate provided crisp and detailed recordings, even with my limited experience in mixing and production. The low-latency monitoring was particularly beneficial, allowing me to hear myself in real-time without any distracting delays. For someone just getting into recording and producing music, the AudioBox 96 includes all the essentials without overwhelming with unnecessary features. It strikes a fantastic balance between simplicity and functionality, giving beginners the tools they need to explore their creativity without feeling intimidated. In conclusion, the PreSonus AudioBox 96 is a fantastic entry-level audio interface for beginners. Its straightforward setup, sturdy build, and impressive audio quality make it an ideal choice for those taking their first steps into the world of home recording. Whether you're a singer-songwriter, podcaster, or aspiring producer, the AudioBox 96 offers a solid foundation for your creative journey. ... show more

  • If you get a good unit, You have a great piece of hardware
Style: Audio Interface
I was hesitant because of the reviews of people having a unit that gives a loud freq buzz sound. No problems with my unit and I am so happy i bought it. Aside from its sturdy build and good looks, it just works great. Mic pres sound awesome. My only issue is that if i am surfing the web and play a song on youtube, The audio doesnt seem to want to playback throught the interface headphones. (i think it will play if you have speakers connected though) Even if i set my interface up as the main playback in the sound options menu on my computer, it wont play through. Doesnt affect my opinion at all since it does what its supposed to do. But, The scarlett (focusrite) didnt have this issue. Having said that. I love the sound of the audiobox. Great unit at a great price. ... show more

  • easy to set up
Style: Audio Interface
didn't know what to expect, but digitizing old cassette recordings and getting most of the hissing out, you can add tracks and make it sound better than the original if your motivated. still a work in progress but that's on me not the product-

  • Good controls, good sound reproducion
Style: Audio Interface
I'm not even a hobbyist so take this as you will. I needed a way to pull in two sound inputs for a training video. It was problematic to have two USB inputs to the OBS Studio app I was using on Windows 11. When both mics were plugged in it was giving errors about USB bandwidth. An external audio interface was the recommended solution. Setup was easy enough. No external drivers needed, just plug it in to the USB port. I'm using dual Audio Technica AT2020 mics and a set of cheap monitoring headphones. Windows detected the device and it was immediately available in OBS Studio. Configuring the contols took a little longer. I found that I had to turn the gain on both mics almost all the way up. There's just a small area where the input was loud enough without suddenly hearing a lot of background white noise. I.e., it didn't gradually get louder but sounded almost like a switch was flipped. Once recorded the sound was quite good. This may be more to do with the mics themselves, but there was no background noise as I'd heard in the headphone monitor. The device also worked fine with a Linux desktop. Only concern I had is that the USB interface is the older style. I don't know if this limits the bandwidth of if it evern matters, but it's just another cable to carry around. ... show more

  • Best entry level bundle out there for Studio recording/production!
Style: Studio Bundle +Mic, Headphones
This is the second time I purchase this bundle, in my opinion the best all inclusive bundle for entry level music producers/studio recording. Clean quality and serves its purpose, very highly recommended!

  • Good DAW or midi/rehearsal station.
Style: Audio Interface
Use this for your DAW or I use it as a personal rehearsal station for my EWI. Thinking of setting it up as a dedicated midi station. PreSonus the company rock it for DAW's, they even have a descent one at no charge. I like this one, low cost and I am old school...I LOVE HARDWARE...must have knobs to touch. ... show more

  • not just a simple plug & play ... not as advertised & buzzes as well.
Style: Studio Bundle +Mic, Headphones
Problem is that changing all those audio settings to what you had recommended, messed up the audio on mi pc & i had no sound & had to take mi time to reset all that, and thats really rather inconvenient & nobody has time for all that ... And more impotently as well is there's just no interface or controls like on the advertisement as pictured, ect. and it's listed as being a simple plug & play & this is anything but ... And i used to have a Tascam version of this & it was much easier to use, as nobody's really got time for all this & it's just still not working properly anyway. And now after hooking this thing up, there is a constant buzzing & low end hum & crackling from mi speakers that was never there before & so now it just really seems like i have paid all this money, put all this time & effort into this thing & i'm just worse off before i purchased & received it, thank you very much. as this is so frustrating, contacted customer service & still havent heard anything back, should not have to do all this or go through all this, as it should just be a simple plug & play as advertised, thank you. ... show more
