Love this no waste bird food since the birds and squirrels eat just about everything up. It cost a little more than the food I use to buy but now the patio is clear of any food debris. I used to have to clean up the patio every night since it was littered with corn and sunflower seed shells but since changing to this brand the animals we feed clean about 99.99 percent of the food up. I think we use to have about 25% waste with the other food so I think this food is actually cheaper for us to use. Plus, the birds and squirrels seem to love it. ... show more

This food attracts many different birds species then normal bird seed. My yard is filled with blue jays and cardinals. I have purchased this brand several times. Glad there is no cheap bird seed in it so I don’t have to pick up the weeds.

I think it would have helped if they had used different descriptive words than "seeds", or shown something in the pictures to give scale. I thought these were smaller seeds, such as I found in other mixes. Sunflower, millet, etc.. Indeed, the description spoke only of "hulled seeds". What I found was almost exclusively unbroken nuts, some as large as a whole shelled walnut. In my opinion, they could at least have broken them down a bit. They will not fit through the holes of my feeders, and they are too big for the smaller birds I particularly wanted to attract. The photo on the front of the bag of a bluebird sitting on a cone flower did nothing to dispel my expectation this food was suitable for smaller birds. Save this product for feeding the squirrels and chipmunks, or if you only want to attract large birds. It is particularly inappropriate to offer nuts such as these in the Spring, when parent birds try to feed them to their chicks and the chicks can choke on them (this advice comes from the Audubon Society). That said, the product, such as it was, did appear to be fresh. ... show more

Have this is 2 bird feeders and the BlueJays love this stuff, as do the squirrels, and there is nothing left all over the ground from this. So fresh I am almost tempted to eat it myself - the nuts are almost all completely whole and not broken and squashed.
