We used this for our upstairs bathroom. We live in a very rural area but as time goes on everywhere seems to be becoming more and more populated. So what used to be our private oasis is now experiencing a periodical amount of vehicle traffic. It's a large window, 35" wide by 72" high and lets in plenty of light. My initial solve to the vehicle traffic was to just pull the curtains when we were in the bathroom, but that bathroom has so much beautiful light that I was saddened that we could no longer enjoy the light or the view. With this frosted privacy film I get the best of both worlds combined. After thoroughly cleaning the window we installed this simply with water and smoothed it down and removed the air bubbles working from the middle out with a straight plastic scraper. I had this scraper from a recent wallpaper project but you can use anything that has a flat edge. In order for us to still enjoy the view. I only took the privacy film up to about 5 foot off the floor. That leaves the top 2 foot open for us to enjoy the view without compromising our privacy. There are no other homes in the area. Looking at it from the street or yard I can now only see the ceiling through the area that we left open. We tested the privacy both day and night by standing in the bathroom and having another family member at the street. The frost privacy film works great and still lets plenty of light in during the day. An Additional observation: This comes in both Frost and White. We chose the Frost for this particular application. If your bathtub or shower is directly next to the window I would be worried that it would not give enough privacy but our bath and shower are a few feet away and we can not see identifying silhouettes through the privacy film from the street. If you're worried about the amount of privacy offered I would go with the "white" privacy film option. ... show more

This privacy screen looks nice and it will allow my guests to feel more comfortable. It was easy enough to install because I had the tools so I highly suggest you get the right tools. My only issue was a bottom corner that I just can’t seem to get all the air bubbles out of. I’ve tried and tried but can’t get it right. The good thing is that it’s on the very bottom near a toilet. The rest of it looks very nice. I would recommend as long as the price remains low and competitive. This type of film that doesn’t have shapes and is mostly smooth is trickier to flatten out without noticeable bubbles. The plus is that you can lift and spray more water and re-stick. Currently, I have one bathroom which on the side where the driveway is located, so I always have dark/thick curtains at this window. When I was offered the opportunity to try this privacy film that also has a design engraved on it-I thought it may be the solution to this window. The instructions state to make sure the window is clean and to make sure the window is saturated with water when placing the film on it. I cleaned the window with a 1/2 and 1/2 solution of water and vinegar. Measured the window and then totally saturated the window with water. I smoothed out the film with my hand while alternating between a painter's tool. In less than 30 minutes the window was covered! The design bounced off the walls (I had a light on afterwards) but the window looked so much nicer than before. This is another window that will be replaced in the Spring, but until then, this is a major improvement! This is perfect for enhancing older windows, adding privacy to windows facing neighbors/driveways/streetways, enhancing a rental home/Airbnb. Today (11/29) will be the first full day with the covering-if anything changes, I'll update my review. Thus far, I am pleased with the outcome! ... show more

    • Adds privacy while still letting in the light

The worst thing about this is the installation, but I knew that going in- I've installed a similar product before. If you follow directions & cut this slightly larger than your window, then trim it with a razor-tool, you'll be cutting into the edge of the window frame, which you do not want to do. So it's essential to measure & cut this out very accurately to the exact size needed before applying as they direct. If you cut it short by just a tiny bit at the edge, you probably won't even notice, & I'd rather risk that than cut into my window frames. I installed this on my garage window & it's perfect for that. It lets in the light (with minimal light reduction), but keeps out prying eyes, & the garage is no place to be hanging curtains, let's face it. I would use this in more places in my house, except that I'm just too nosy. I'm very big on privacy, but with too much privacy also comes the lack of being able to see what's going on outside when you need to. ... show more

The LUTE Window Privacy Film, Frosted Glass Window Film Covering is a durable, well-made product that provides privacy while still allowing light to fill a room. I love the clean look of the film and the fact that it doesn’t collect dust like blinds. The variety of sizes is great. I found one that was just slightly wider than my windows so there is very little wasted product. I wish it was rolled on the cardboard insert in the opposite direction so it wouldn’t peel away from the window when installed. This makes the first attempt of putting it on very difficult and seems like an easy problem for LUTE to fix. Other than that, I would recommend this window film. as it works exactly as described. ... show more
