My 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee's factory head unit became unusable due to a manufacture's defect with the Uconnect LCD display which is used in many Chrysler,Jeep, Dodge, Fiat vehicles. The screens begin to delaminate due to the glue melting which causes the touchscreen to malfunction and even trigger "ghost touches" which result in A/C turning on in the Winter, Heat turning on in the Summer, emergency service calls, etc. Chrysler/Jeep was aware of the problems but have not yet issued a recall. They gave me a quote of $1200 to replace the unit, but told me to hang on to my receipt in case a recall is issued. No thanks. Rather than replace my defective unit with an identical unit I chose to scrap the whole thing and go with this more modern unit with a bigger display and more features! It is pretty easy to install, comes with a prewired harness that plugs right into the factory harness. My factory backup camera works perfectly, on-screen A/C controls work and I also retain the factory knobs to control the A/C and radio. It fits in perfectly into the dash and looks like the factory head units on the newer vehicles. I mainly use it with the wireless Apple CarPlay but occasionally use some of the apps. downloaded from the Google Playstore. Best of both worlds. Highly recommended. ... show more

so my wife's 2018 Grand Cherokee is a higher end trim but even on that the 8.4 inches nowdays is just not enough, so i thought ok let me do this it's an aging car etc, i'm in IT and i do a lot of direct sourcing in China so i was aware of what to expect, as far as broken english here and there, etc. But this thing was ridiculous. The entire system is not intuitive, if your car is a higher trim and has like vented and heated seats etc this thing is terrible to do, also the sound coming out is junk since they have a nice audio system in this trim of a jeep this unit is making everything sound bad, and yes i know how to adjust things and i did adjust things. Anyway this thing is going back. Again, if you have a basic trim Jeep that doesn't have all the fancy stuff this may work well for you but yeah it's a no go for me. ... show more

Nearly all functions worked without any problems from initial installation. Any issues that I had, customer service handled quickly and worked with me until it was completely resolved. Again there are some things I would love for the system to have or be able to do. But overall for the price, it looks and sounds great... very satisfied with the product and the seller!!! ... show more

I'm plagued by the 2018 Grand Cherokee Uconnect radio issues and was looking for a solution and thought I had found it. To start off with the screen shipped fast and looks great. I really wanted this unit because I wanted the factory a/c controls available as a backup i case the touch screen controls failed. Since there were no or very little instructions, it was trial and error to separate the a/c controls from the factory bezel. Reinstallation wasn't as bad, but made me nervous. The rest of the installation was pretty straight forward, you do need to guess on the cable connections. My 1st biggest issue was that no matter what I did the touch screen a/c controls would not function. I could get them to work on the factory controls and they would show up on the touch screen as being adjusted , but the touch screen had no effect whatsoever. My second issue was with the sound quality. It sounds great sitting in your car, but once on the road you need to increase the volume to almost max, which cause the speakers to start to clip in the Jeep. I adjusted the amp settings, sound processing, and bass level gains through he touch screen but it was just never right and eventually would clip. It looks cool and goes have some other random weirdness, but it just wasn't the right fit for my needs. I just wanted to manage other buyers expectation of what to expect with the unit. ... show more

I bought this radio for my 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland. Installation was pretty simple for someone with experience with car audio, wouldn't recommend doing it on your own if you're new, mainly because the instructions are minimal to none. I emailed support 3 times, and got no response to any of my questions. The 6 pin USB provided did not work. The Zlink app for the android auto/apple carplay is the worst part of this whole radio. It works half of the time, the other half it doesn't. It would disconnect my phone on longer drives, sometimes it wouldn't connect at all. The connection would mess up the music, and the whole application would run PAINFULLY slow. My main reason for purchasing this radio was so that my older vehicle would have apple carplay/android auto. I was able to retain all the factory features (heated/cooled seats, heated steering wheel, BSM, Lane Keep Assist, Eco mode, etc.) Outside of my issues with Zlink, the radio was pretty decent. Figuring out the audio controls, and how to change the EQ settings was a learning curve for sure. But, the sound quality the radio produced was pretty good. Much better than the stock radio. The other negative I would note is that the glare on the screen is HORRIBLE. The screen does not get bright enough to combat the glare, making it hard to see during the day. The $700 price tag is high for this radio in my opinion. I recommend looking for another radio if your main point for upgrading is apple carplay/android auto. ... show more
