This thing is amazing. Super lightweight but the sturdy handle insures it won’t fly away. It’s bright and has five settings, and you can charge by solar or USB. It packs flat but blows up with one puff. Super handy for more than just camping.

This is my third LuminAID Camping Lantern. My first lantern came in a Cairn subscription box and we used it until the plastic broke down. I’m thinking five years. This particular model of the LuminAID Camping Lantern is great. It is lightweight and it is bright. I use it backpacking inside the tent for soft, non-blinding lamination. It is great for nocturnal bathroom stumbles. Once, winter hiking during a burn ban in the Smokies, it served as a stand in for a fire for company (but not warmth.) Recently, during a power outage at my home, I used it for moving around the house and realized my husband needed his own. Hence the purchase of this particular model. I will note that it was not fully charged because I wasn’t planning on camping but since it has a charging port, I connected it to an external backup power source I usually use for my phone and I was good to go. I like this light very much in many ways. It's bright enough for using for anything except reading and yet not harsh. It isn't quite bright enough for easy reading though. I'm a bit disappointed that once or twice it has cut out after a short time, before the battery was used up. Then later it went on again. Probably a loose connection. Very useful, though, and the light really spreads as opposed to being more like a spot light. ... show more

I bought one of these for our emergency preparedness kit, and had to use it a few weeks after it arrived due to losing power in our neighborhood. Great battery life and provides more than enough light to fill a hallway/room. Will definitely be getting a few more of these.
