This is our second order of these lanterns. We live in an all-electric home in a rural area. Power outages are frequent during bad weather. We have these stragically placed in every room in the house. The light is bright, they are long lasting and have been a savior in those midnight power outages.     • Handy when the power goes out, very good value
I'm not a camper, but when there's a lengthy unplanned power outage in the evening candles are not a good option (I've tried). I bought these solely for backup lighting during power outages. The work just fine. No complaints. What's to like - easy operation: lift up to turn on; push down to turn off - surprisingly good lumen output ... though you may need 2-3 in, say, a kitchen - good battery life using standard batteries (comes equipped) ... better than USB-rechargeable lights that aren't much help in an extended power outage if they need to be recharged What's not to like - "cold" blue-white LED light that will disappoint those who want soft, warm lighting - as it's a lantern with light projected 360-degrees (not a lamp with a shade) there's going to be glare ... show more

These are lightweight, long-lasting, multi-use, bright, and very user-friendly. Just pull up the handles and voila light. No buttons, no fuss. Push the top back down, and the light goes out. Four in the box makes them perfect. Plus, they come with batteries, so you can get them up and running as soon as you open the box. More things I like are that they are small, have handles so they can be hung (casts decent light in a tent or dark room), and have a flat bottom so they can sit nearby. I have given them as part of hurricane/flood relief donations. I have two sets of my ownβ€”one spread throughout the house as part of our "power outage" plan and the other with my camping supplies.     • Good product with some quality control issues
Lantern seem well-made and put out a good bit of light for their size. I really like the fact that they run on AA batteries, and that there’s a storage location (either for spare batteries, or a place in which to store the set you plan to use to prevent the batteries from leaking all over the battery compartment). Unlike some reviews I read, these are made from ABS plastic rather than metal, which is fine for me. There are still very durable. You have to be careful when replacing the battery compartment door… It is very easy to cross thread the screw on lid. With a little care, the lid goes on fine and keeps the compartment watertight. I had to order these twice. The first time only three of the four lanterns actually worked. I did double check the batteries and they were fine, so some issue with quality control in producing the fourth lantern. The packaging itself was damaged, so it didn’t get damaged in the shipment. I initially tried to reach out to the manufacturers product support phone number, but the message that that number says you must deal with them via email… That’s a non-starter for me . I went through the return process with Amazon and they replaced with a new set of working lanterns. Taking off one star for the quality control issues and the issues reaching customer support. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Like these, just in case of a power outage. They are very easy to open and close and have a very bright light to them. Very lightweight, easy to use, and seem to be good quality. You can hang them when you need to use both your hands and have nothing to set it on. Even with it being small it has a very bright light. These lights are fantastic. I've owned them for several years. They are as described. Very handy to have around when the power goes out. I'm typing this as I sit here without power after Hurrican Helene hit. The AA battery size is a great one. D cells tend to go out of stock quickly when hurricane warnings come in. I bought this as emergency lights. They open very easily and spray a lot of light. They come in a package of 4, so you can put into different areas of a house or apartment. I have not tried them outdoors. They also come with batteries. While I can't speak to the length of lights, it's apparently good for 50 hours. So far, recommended. ... show more
