I've owned this LUME CUBE Edge LED Desk Lamp for just over 2 years. I installed it to illuminate the music stand on my piano. It works great. At its brightest setting, it's more than sufficient to let me see the notes on the page. At its dimmest, it makes a great soft area light. It's got an articulating arm with 4 adjustment points to position the light just where you want it.     • Great light, awkward UX
I purchased this light, despite the poor UX reviews, because I was sick of knocking over the ring light on my desk. I'm on WebEx calls all day, plus I my home office is in a room with very little light, so this product kills two birds with one stone...though the stone is awkward to pick up and hurl. On the plus side, the light in bright as heck...on the clearest/highest setting, it feels like I'm getting a sun tan. The color modes (warm or sterile) are perfect for what I'm using it for, and I like the adjustable brightness settings. The only negative is the function of the adjustment button, and the button locations themselves. I had to move the light (and re-arrange my desk) because the buttons are perplexingly in a spot that's very difficult to get to. I'm a bit baffled that a light that costs this much didn't come with a remote...or a more convenient button location. Additionally, to toggle between adjusting warmth or brightness, it's the same button... with a tiny light that tells you what you're adjusting. This light is near impossible to see...so you're really just winging it. Does it make the product worthless? No. Would it have been nice for someone to actually think this through? Yes. Overall, superb light...works great if it's in a spot on your desk where you can easily reach the buttons. ... show more

    • Nice light, with some curious compromises
This is a nice light with a decent range of motion and good light output, but some questionable product design choices force me to deduct 2 stars. First, the good: the light is incredibly easy to mount to the desk and set up. The base rotates and the light itself rotates, while three other pivot points let you bend and angle the light into just about any position. You can control the warmth of the light, and the brightness from the control panel towards the top of the arm. Now, the bad points, in no particular order: 1. The controls are definitely less than ideal. Instead of having separate buttons to control brightness and warmth, you have to toggle between the two settings with a button and then use the same +/- buttons to increase/decrease the light level or color temperature, depending on the "mode" it's in. This is just not good UX. 2. There should be a remote control because I have might light mounted pretty far back, placing the controls completely out of reach. I have to stand up any time I want to make adjustments to the light. 3. There's a pair of USB ports built into the light, but its positioning is odd. It's on the BACK of the bottom light post, near the DC power port. One would think you'd want easier access to the USB ports, so these should have been positioned on the front of the unit. 4. Speaking of USB, the USB-C port is only 5W. 20W would have been preferable, but 10W is the bare minimum, allowing you to fast charge a phone. This really limits the utility of the USB-C port. 5. Finally, this is a minor point, but it's worth mentioning. When the light is off, there's a glaring red LED near the power button that is always on. This brings me back to the days of VCRs with the flashing 12:00 on the front panel. I promptly put a piece of black electrical tape over this obnoxious red light and solved that problem for good. What a dumb design decision. Ultimately this is a decent light, but at this price point, I really expected better. These product designers should actually sit down and USE the products they built because they'd come upon these quirks and design issues within 10 minutes of using the product. All of these issues are minor but entirely fixable in the next revision of the light… if the company actually cares enough to improve it. ... show more

I got two of these very versatile lights. I use them for streaming and to highlight items on a second camera. When not streaming, I readjust them and dim them a bit and they are fantastic desk lamps. The negatives would be that the control buttons are all smooth with no way tell which button is being pressed unless you’re looking at it. That’s not terrible. What’s worse is there is a tiny LED light — when it’s blue the + and - buttons control brightness. When the light is green, those same buttons control temperature. It’s difficult to see the light if you don’t have the lights positioned directly in front of you. Also, there is no indicator to know what settings you have regarding the brightness. Not a huge deal except when streaming. If you have the light set to a certain level and want them set back to those same settings for another broadcast later, you have no way to tell what the previous settings were. Bottom line, these lights are a little expensive, but they are versatile and give off great light. ... show more

    • Up & running in minutes!
I had 10 minutes before a Zoom meeting and I decided to see if I could get this Lume light up and running. No problem! It was easy to set up, I didn't even need to read instructions and the light was perfect for my meeting. I looked much better than the regular overlight light I had been using. I think this is going to work perfectly. A bit pricey but the ease of use and versatility is worth every penny. ... show more
