This is a great beginner set. The cymbals are not good quality. But those can be replaced. The instructions on putting together is a little lacking. Yes I would recommend this set.

This is a decent little drum set. I know it says for 4-10 year olds but I had a small space I wanted to fit these drums into that a full size kit just wouldn't have fit in. I'm 6"2, and this thing fits me just fine. Out of the box everything sounds decent. I upgraded the cymbals with a cymbal pack and added a 20" ride and a 16" crash. Next I'm looking at getting new drum heads, not that the original heads are terrible but they could definitely be better. ... show more

    • Excellent set for child wanting to try drums out!
We have a 5 year old that received this set for Christmas 2020 (a few months ago) when he was still 4. He is a true drummer. Plays all day long — we have experienced a ton of wear on cymbals and drum heads. If you have a child who’s going to experiment, this is perfect! If you have a child that is a dedicated and passionate drummer, purchase real cymbals and new stand/arms and then this drum set will be perfect! Again, this drum set would’ve received 5 stars if we didn’t notice wear and tear in the first week of ownership; however, this could be due to my son’s playing for hours each day. 😬😂 ... show more

This is seriously the world’s smallest drum set. The reviews are very deceiving. Super disappointed and the customer service absolutely sucks. I've been playing/teaching drums for 25 years. Different bands, different styles, many different drum kits over the years. I was looking for a small but good quality kit for my nephew and niece to start on and I came across this one, and I have to say the sound you get out of this pocket kit is incredible. Easy to assemble, and the kids were playing within an hour of us opening the box. The quality for the price cannot be beat. There is no better starter kit for young drummers. I bought this for my son in 2019. I have been playing myself for 20 years and have owned a variety of different kits through out those years. My son has loved this set! As of recent I have had to play in some tight spots while gigging, I had a thought to replace the stock heads, add some better hardware and tune it up a bit. Hands down a great kit.
