Description

Lubegard Platinum Universal ATF Protectant is a uniquely formulated transmission technology used to convert regular Dexron/Mercon ATF into OEM ATF types. They can perform like highly friction modified ATFs such as: Honda Genuine ATF, Toyota Type T, Toyota Type T II, Toyota Type T IV, Mopar ATF + 3 (7176), Mopar ATF +4 (9602) and others. Lubegard is the number one product used in the transmission repair industry because it's the only product of its kind that has LXE technology. It is an award-winning technology that has gained the use and approval of multiple major car manufacturers and has been the written solution for transmission problems in eight car manufacturers technical bulletins. The professional transmission technicians use Lubegard to convert to dealer-only ATFs, but also to supplement depleted additive packages found in factory fill ATF (the original ATF your vehicle came equipped with). It provides the same (and in some cases better) performance characteristics of a dealer ATF with the added benefits of instant relief from shudder, slipping and noise. It also provides long term protection of the fluid and transmission itself from heat and wear. In order to find out if your vehicle came equipped with Mercon V fluid, Lubegard has the industry's most comprehensive listing of all makes and models, with factory fill and also the appropriate Lubegard conversion product if an alternative is needed to dealer-only fluids. DIRECTIONS FOR USE: Follow LUBEGARD ATF Conversion & Refill Chart for proper ATF conversions or use as a protectant with any OE ATF. For normal applications, add 1 oz. (29.6 mL) per quart (Liter) of ATF to the total transmission capacity (including torque converter) with motor idling in park. Do not overfill. Do no use with Ford Type F ATF or in CVT’s.

  • Works extremely well!
Size: 10 oz.
I have a 2016 GMC Sierra 1500 with the 8-speed automatic with 112,000 miles as of this writing. I did not have the TCC shutter issue, but I was having hard shift issues between 1st and 2nd gear and then when the transmission would go back in 1st gear. This product made a noticeable improvement after following the instructions on how to add it to the transmission and then over the next 500 miles, things continued to improve. My transmission now performs like I would expect a new transmission to perform - nice and smooth. Money very well spent for me! ... show more

  • This stuff is amazing for a Chevy Silverado 1500
Size: 10 oz.
My 2019 Silverado developed a shudder at 50k miles. The dealership wanted to sell me a new transmission for $8k without even pulling the pan to see what’s wrong. I took it home and drained 2 quarts of fluid, checked for metal and found none. Added some Mobil 1 fluid and Lubeguard and it shifts better than it ever has. The shudder is completely gone. Now that I know it was just a fluid issue I’m going to flush and replace it with Amsoil fluid and add Lubeguard. ... show more

  • Have it in my BMW ZF transmission since 2019
Size: 10 oz.
I have replaced the transmission fluid in our BMW X5 2013 with a 8 gear ZF auto transmission back in 2019 when the car reached 60k miles and it is working very well after 20k miles. I used Liquimoly Top Tec 1800 ATF fluid and added the required amount of this Lubegard additive. The transmission was working fine before the fluid change but I have replaced half of it just for precaution. Anyway after driving out of the garage I could tell the difference in smoothness while shifting gears up and down, it was not a dramatic difference but it was noticeable. After 20k miles it still shifts very well as the first day. What ever that was due to simply replacing half of the fluid or to this additive I cannot tell but nevertheless if you change the fluid it will not hurt adding this additive. It also improved mileage by 1 mile per gallon. ... show more

  • A miracle that saved me $3000
Size: 10 oz.
My car is 10+ years old, and became more sluggish by the day since 7 years ago. No mechanic could identify the cause. The AT recently started to jerk when shifting gear and often produce the sound and vibration you get when trying to close a door that is large than its frame. I was certain that a $3000+ AT rebuild cost is just hours away, and it won't be worth it for such an old car. After hours of research, it's clear that I need at least try to change my AT fluid. Just by luck, the cheapest place (it's not one of those quick lube big chains) is a family owned small lube place that uses only genuine Honda fluids, yet quoting half the cost of the chain lube places. I later read that genuine Honda fluids have additives not found in other brands. After the ATF drain and fill (not flush - do NOT flush if you already have AT problem), the sluggishness that started 7 years ago (which was when some mechanic put in generic ATF) was instantly gone. Within a few hours, the jerky and banging shift improved by 70%, but not totally gone. Then I added around 4 oz of Lubegard, and started to look for improvement. But now I have a new problem, and it is "a very nice problem to have". I just can't notice any gear shift! The car goes from 0 to 65 mph, as if no shifting was done. But the car cannot logically go at 65 mph at 2000 rpm without somehow having shifted to 5th gear, and can't go up steep hill without having downshifted. It's just that the AT is now so quiet and smooth that it is just unreal, and I can't feel the shift points. Now that I have genuine honda ATF, and genuine honda motor oil, and I have just put in a bottle of techron, the car is now smoother and has more power than the day I first owned it. I have to change my foot pedal habit to make sure that the car does not accelerate too fast. I am writing this so that anyone else in my position would not despair before at least trying some cheap possible solutions. The total cost of my car's rebirth is $11 for the lubegard and $4 for the techron. The ATF and oil change are things that would have to be done anyways. Why not flush the AT? Try "flushing" an ice cube with sharp edges down your throat, and you would understand. Compare that with waiting till the ice melt bit by bit, and becomes fluid, and flow natural down. Instead of flushing the AT, do a standard drain and fill with honda fluid (or whatever premium best fluid you like, not generic cheap fluid), then drive the car for a few weeks, and do a standard drain and fill again. Metal bits that cause problem become ground up gradually and naturally, and flow away into the filter. Otherwise, you are basically trying to flush a wood log through a pipe, and get to find which one breaks first. To sum it up, premium ATF + motor oil + LG + techron gave me a new car. Hope that works for other people. Good luck! ... show more

  • Recommended to me
Size: 10 oz.
This product was recommended to me by a local mechanic. Seemed to help my transmission for the time being but later found out it needed to be replaced altogether. I now use this as preventative maintenance.
