My friends always laughed when the heard the metallic clink on my original Leica Q2 lens cap hitting the ground, "sounds like a Leica", they would say. It was annoying how it would fall off everywhere. This metal cap fits very snug and has not fallen off yet. This is a great replacement.

I like this cap as a replacement for the original Q2 cap. This one is pretty close looking, with a couple of slight differences. It is an all-metal cap with a red felt liner. It is slightly lighter in weight than the original, and fits the camera lens a bit tighter. It is also slightly larger and has a shiny black semi-gloss paint on the outside versus a matte black paint on the original. It also has a ridge on the side of the cap, while the original has no ridge. I have added some side-by-side images to show the differences. All in all, this seems like a good quality replacement that comes very close to the original. I will continue to use this cap and keep my original in a safe place. Not sure why I want to keep the original cap in such great shape, but I'm just gonna go with it. ... show more

It’s too tight and puts too much pressure on the felt which dislodges and pulls off the metal

    • Ring Felt falls off quickly
It worked really well at first, but after a short bit of time (maybe a month or two?), the felt on the inner ring has fallen off and the front cap simply doesn't stay on. I've had it for a year now, and it's just been driving me crazy. I'm buying the Leica one today.

Great fit. Slides right over the lens hood while feeling snug without scratching the metal. This is better than the original and the even lifted the logo. Sorry Leica.

I have a Q2, and I was looking for a cap that wouldn't fall off all the time, a known problem with the Q2 lens cap. This one looks as good as the original, stays on the lens, doesn't cost a small fortune.
