I recently had a remarkable encounter with a relentless yellow jacket nest that led me to test the boundaries of my bee suit. Armed with determination and my trusty 2x4, I embarked on a mission to remove a massive hive from my property. Amidst the chaos, the bee suit I donned proved to be a game-changer, offering unparalleled protection and ensuring my safety throughout the endeavor. I was removing a massive hive for 30 minutes without a single bite. Durability and Protection: 5/5 From the moment I zipped up the bee suit, I was impressed by its robust construction. The suit held up exceptionally well as I maneuvered around the hive, even with a 2x4 in hand I used to scrape the hive off the bottom of my deck. Notably, not a single bee managed to penetrate the suit's defenses, despite my proximity to their hive and the forceful expulsion of parts of the nest. Hood Design and Accessories: 4.5/5 Wearing a baseball cap under the hood, as suggested by fellow bee warriors, provided an extra layer of protection for my head and face. The hood effectively shielded me from potential stings, although an adjustable tightening mechanism would be a useful addition for a more customized fit. Comfort and Layering: 4/5 Layering proved to be a strategic choice. The thick Carhartt jacket, combined with work jeans, enhanced insulation without compromising mobility. The extra layers, along with duct tape sealing on gloves and ankles, contributed significantly to the suit's effectiveness in keeping the hornets at bay. However, an additional inner lining for added comfort during prolonged use would be appreciated. Great suit for removing hornets once I got it on. Difficult to get off too. Plenty of arm and leg room. Little tight across mid section. Tight from shoulders to crotch. You have been stung by yellow jackets, wasps, hornets, or bees. I know I have. It's painful. You feel it for days afterwards. You don't want that again. I understand. This beekeeping outfit will solve your problem. Other outfits on Amazon will cost you $200 or more. This one is VERY modestly priced. And what do you get for your purchase? An effective suit that will PROTECT every MILLIMETER of your body from those nasty nasty hornets/wasps/yellow jackets (or alternatively, a bee having a hard day. Notice how I don't lump bees who make honey and pollinate flowers in with the rest of those VERMIN). Do yourself a favor. Be kind to your wallet, and be kind to your nerve endings. Buy this bee suit. Bought the bee suit to get rid of a hive inside a building’s soffit. The hive is located in the soffit/wall 2 stories high and I needed to climb up a tall ladder to reach it. This suit has provided proper protection while I am working the hive. Its easy to put on and quality is good, the weight is just right and don’t impede your movement. The only complaint I have is the size runs a bit tight for a stocky body typed of person. Maybe 1 size up would help, but this one gets the job done and I’m pretty happy about it. ... show more

Size: L for 5'3"-5'7"
I'm 5.5ft. When it comes to clothing, I'm between medium and large. After reading the description and reviews (and yes, reading Amazon's notice of high return rate), I still ordered a large thinking it would fit. When it arrived, I tried it on. It seemed a bit tighter than I expected, but doable. Then I did the bend over test. The suit didn't split or anything, but it got uncomfortable quick. Large isn't going to work at all. Loose covering is important, especially over sensitive areas. As far as quality, I didn't see anything I thought was a deal breaker. The seams looked good. The hood looked adequate. The zipper on the left side of the hood didn't seem to want to close all the way but I didn't try to work it because this will be returned. I would use tape over the flap, ankles and wrists anyway. The elastic is snug, but not too tight. The gloves are a little thinner than I expected, but comfortable. I did not take it on a test run because it will be returned. Suggestion: even if you are medium-large like me, save yourself the time and get the extra large from the get-go. The large simply isn't large enough. Will update the review after I'm able to get a larger suit to test out. EDIT: The XL fits comfortably. I ended up braving the two yellow jacket nests at night w/o a suit (they were terrorizing my dogs, and I had to do something). That said, I haven't had the chance to test it yet, but I feel a lot better knowing I have it for next time. Bee Safe! ... show more
