Firstly, right out of the box 2/4 stars I jumped my mom's 4.8L Ford explorer. She's a ditz and has a bunch of cars she let's die all the time. She attempted using a 1000amp from costco which had no luck and she says has to be at 100% to work which it was. The beatit 2200amp also failed but had also jumped a 5.3 Chevy at the start of summer and had drained down to 83% sitting in my hot trunk. She basically relies on AAA and she said they struggle to jump her Ford v8 as well, and do some sorta trick where they hook two weaker jumper boxes to it to make it work. This does it by itself. Nice build quality, plugged output and inputs. Pelican style construction, heavy garage wires with full metal clamps! I've had 3 other jumpers and have never had clamps this nice. I did hear a click/clunk the 2nd time I squeezed the clamps, they didn't break or seem to fall apart when I did it another 6 times to make sure I didn't need to return them. Dare I say it was a break-in noise? I know lol, these days things don't break-in they just break. I really like this product and it saved my mom needing to renew her AAA membership which I guess expired recently. Half a star deducted for keeping the case as sold separately. Just package it in the case and charge another 10 bucks.. the packaging had to be costly, it felt like opening up a new watch. ... show more

This is an incredibly powerful batter to jump start your car with. I have an old Volvo 850 that has an electrical issue and caused the batter to go bad. I use the LokiThor J401 to jump the car with basically no battery and you can just hear the eagerness, in the starter, when it has all the power it wants to crank over. Now for the one problem, as you can see from the photos, the cable came OUT of the clamp. Sadly this is not something you can just slip back in and try to re-clamp/pinch again. This was a shock or should I say surprise, that a $100 plus jumper battery was rendered useless after 3-4 jumps because where the cable connects to the "pinched" clamp simply slipped out. LokiThor web support to the rescue! After reaching out to the company via their web-chat, they asked to provide some photos and the amazon proof of purchase. 5 days later they sent me the new cables. Best support I've had in a long time. I've also uploaded a photo of the new cables. So overall, I love the battery and support team but I'm a little concerned about the connection methods used for the cable. To be humble, maybe there was some gentile tug getting it in and out of the box or hooking the cables to the battery, so now I am MUCH more careful not to put stress on the cables but still . . . you think it would be fastened just a little bit better as the cable is simply stranded wire. ... show more

Had a tacklife t8 pro before this, it was nearly worthless. After watching @ProjectFarm's comparison testing on youtube, picked up this J401. This thing works better than I ever expected. I've used it on everything from a golf cart, to a 1994 BMW 540 with a completely dead battery, to a F250 7.3 diesel. Works every time and unlike some models, the clamps on this unit are well designed for a variety of terminals and angles. Big plus that it has USB-C input/output capabilities, so my 65W laptop USB-C charger will charge this unit from almost dead to full in a couple hours. ... show more

    • Had to return a defective unit
Got a defective unit that showed a fault for being overcharged, but there is no way to discharge it. Contacted manufacturer and they told me same thing the instructions said regarding the fault. They told me to send it back for a replacement. In the end, everything worked out, and I got a replacement unit, but the whole process could have been smoother. It's obvious the company is based outside of the country. All of the emails sounded like they were from Google translate, which also made it seem like a possible scam. I was also required to pay to ship it back, and get reimbursed after they got it. Like I said, it all worked out so everything is fine now, but certainly not as easy as an Amazon return. ... show more

Have had several other brands through the years and would say this is by far the best I have encountered. Is definitely EASY to use and intelligent - just attach to battery and devise adjusts jump charge based on your batteries needs. Has worked great on a petrol V8 truck and a 2 door city roundabout - and each instance the voltage was unique to the need which others have not done so less overheating and longer use life.
