Over the years I must have bought a dozen or more super glue products that you open by puncturing the tube with a needle and eventually it is dried out when you need it again. This product is way different. For starters it is a gel. For the delivery of the glue you press both sides of the bottle and since it is a gel, it comes out more precisely. You have much better control of where you want the glue to go. It has a screw on cap to keep the glue from drying out. This Loctite glue has all the other properties as the original... it will dry and set in a few seconds after application and full bond strength in about 10 minutes. I bought this to repair soles that had separated from the shoe. I/ was slightly more runny than I expected, but was very manageable and was able to be built up in layers much better than traditional super glue. So far, it has been fairly able to withstand general use. It sticks to leather and rubber pretty well without damaging the material. Clean up was fairly easy because it doesn't run everywhere like water. The cap fit tight and I had no issues with clogging. Wasn't overly strong in smell and was fully cured within about 12 hours or so. I just did applications before bed and, by morning, it was fully hardened. Would buy again. ... show more

This one, however, has similar viscosity to Elmer's Glue, which is something with which we all have experience. It applies easily, spreads evenly, and holds just as well as any.
