Be careful when you cut the tip off the applicator because this stuff has the consistency of white out and will spill out of the tube if the hole is too big. I used a safety pin to make a hole which worked well because you don't need a lot of this to effectively do the job. I'd also recommend wearing rubber gloves when handling this otherwise you risk getting Loctite on your hands and whatever it is you're handling. One drop is enough to coat the threads of small screws, the type you'd find on the hardware of a rifle or handgun. I use this to secure my optics and foregrips or whatever else I'm throwing together. Cure time is 24 hours but noticeable after a few minutes so you want to work fast and efficiently when using this stuff. If you apply this to a set of screws and one takes longer to set than expected you might find that the other screws are already dry which means you'll have to apply more Loctite. It works when it's wet and as it dries it bonds to the metal between the threads to form a seal. If it's dried then it won't work it's magic. It doesn't take much to break the bond and I don't recall ever having a problem loosening a screw or bolt with blue Loctite on it. The red and green versions are supposed to be more permanent solutions and the purple will be the weakest Loctite out of the lineup. I keep a tube of this in my range bag and another one in my cleaning kit. Among other uses, I use this specifically to secure cabinet/drawer knobs. Other glue, or the toothpick trick hasn’t worked, but this stuff nails it every time. Buy some and be the hero of your household!

Loctite Blue is a must have if you have things that come undone. Screws that come lose or loosen on their own. You will not be able to unscrew anything with your fingers after using this. Rock solid product!

Prevents any movement or juggling, when you have metal on metal, as I do with my scope and scope head. Prior to using Loctite, the screw would loosen and cause movement and spinning, when I needed a stationary and solid base. Over time, the thin layer of Loctite wears, and you would need to reapply, to solidify the connection. ... show more

Some of my pots and pans have the screw into the handle into the pan. I often had to retighten before using them. After applying this, I haven't had to re-tighten, even after many many washes by hand and in dishwasher. Highly recommend. Not sure how easy it is to remove.
