I bought these because of the metal housing and lower profile than the plastic bodied ones. One application I had was to convert an older pedal that only runs on 9-volt battery to connect via dc power supply. I didn't consider that most modern guitar effect pedals utilize a "center negative" connection. I figured it would be a simple process to just reverse the leads upon soldering. This works fine BUT if your pedal has a metal housing, doing this will result in the "positive" side shorting out when mounted in the case. It took a minute for me to realize what was happening because I tested my connections before installing this metal dc power socket into the pedal's case. Once I did that, I had no power. I've wired tons of guitars and related items but didn't even think about this issue. My lesson....never start doing wiring until I've had my morning coffee! ... show more

This item is not the same as I purchased last year the ridges in there to slip in the recess of the camera, and the stem is not as long as the other one the newer ones just aren’t the same
