I have these for over a year and a half now and have no complaints at all. They came packaged well and are pretty easy to assemble. I used mine with 12 gauge wire and these have plenty of room to go bigger if desired. So far, no discoloration. They seem to hold up pretty well but it is not like I plug and unplug them frequently. Very nice plugs but be careful not to over tighten!! I felt how tight i can go then stopped. I use loctite so the set screws dont come loose!!!

I like the two set-screw configuration that is used on these plugs, you will need a mini flathead screwdriver. One set screw holds on to the bare wire inside of the plug the second set screw holds the cable's outer casing firmly, keeps the plug from pulling free from the wire. I used 14 AWG OFC zip wire for my installation, added side surround speakers. The plugs were a bit tight to push into the posts but once inserted they are rock solid with no play in the four connections, I have two at speakers two at the amp. ... show more

These look and feel like high quality plugs. They are exactly what I wanted for the custom speaker cables I was making. They are difficult to insert into the binding the first time, but then compress and can be removed and inserted again more easily.

The banana plugs are good quality and easy to use. I paired the banana plugs with KnuKonceptz Kord 10AWG speaker wire. This plug does not fit this 10awg speaker wire with the jacket deep inside the plug. I had to fit the wire in with only a tiny bit of jacket inside the plug. Still a very clean install, but I had to strip an inch and a quarter to fit. Not the banana plugs fault, the speaker wire I chose is very high quality pure oxygen free copper with a nice thick jacket. At this price there is other options with different kinds of installation styles. The other banana plug that supports 10awg speaker wire is Sewell deadbolt. If you have 12awg speaker wire monoprice banana plugs will work. From my research monoprice closed type fits 12awg max. I'm not sure about the monoprice open screw type. ... show more

The quality of the plugs seems to be quite good. However, the design of the front part of the plug with an oversized pin / head really cramps the value of this product. The amount of force that is needed to insert these plugs the first time you use them is very concerning, as it may damage the device's speaker binding posts.
