  • It's good I guess
Only thing I dislike about it is the same model from the company and everywhere else comes with wire, .035 contact tip for same price of 599. It specifies it come with these things so when I clicked the buy from Amazon link it brought me to this item. It doesn't say it comes with the extras like other sellers provide when you buy this item. It was my own fault not reading good. So be aware the redirects sometimes are a little different ... show more

  • A Simple And Incredibly Capable Machine.
I was in desperate need of a good welder to weld up a break in the front swing-arm on my old Honda ATV. I have several other welders, but didn’t feel they were up to the task. This is the main reason I ordered this Lincoln. I am very impressed with this welder so far, and am quite pleased with the results of my repair. This welder is built like a tank, and is very well constructed. The welding gun is easy to hold and operate, and the grounding clamp remains secured to the work area. The spool feed assembly operates as smooth as could be, and removing/installing your spool is a breeze. At 18” x 10” x 14”, and weighing just under 50 lbs, this unit is also quite compact and portable. This makes it easy to load up and take whenever I need it. This welder is capable of carrying out both MIG and Flux Core welding processes, and will work fantastically on a wide array of steel. For the most part, I will be performing the latter What I really love about this welder is its simplicity. This is by far one of Lincoln Electric’s best features. The control panel is so easy to operate. There are only two knobs to worry about. One knob controls wire feed speed, and the other knob controls voltage. Utilizing the built-in guide under the lid of the machine, you can easily dial in these settings based on the type and thickness of the material you are working with. It just doesn’t get any easier than that. Many of the welders I have used in the past always have a tendency to blow through thin gauge steel. For example, welding up a mower deck was always a hassle in the past. However, this welder makes it easy to dial in the settings right where I need them, and in doing so, I experienced very little blow through when welding up a hole in the deck of my old Murray. The welds come out looking clean, and the machine produces very little spatter, which the flux core process is greatly known for. As for welding up thick steel, I can safely say that this unit works fantastically for this purpose as well. As I alluded to earlier, I used this welder to weld a break in the swing arm of my old Honda. I figured this would be serviceable until I am able to source a new one, and I was right. The results were a fairly clean looking weld with surprisingly deep penetration, meaning that this repair will likely outlast the life of the machine. Overall, I am greatly satisfied with the Lincoln Electric SP-140T welder, and consider myself very fortunate to have it in my arsenal. It is worth every penny of the $599 list price, and I would consider it an unbeatable value. The simplicity and the capabilities of this welder are a truly impressive feat, and I look forward to using it even more in the near future. ... show more

  • Quality Welder
I'll be the first to admit I'm not the best welder in the beginner category, but Lincoln makes it easy to practice with the SP-140T MIG Welder. I haven't been able to afford the gas shielding component of this rig yet, so just going with the flux core wire right now. The regulator/gauge and hose are included, just need a decent gas tank. My welds are a bit ... ugly but OK for what I need. A better welding helmet would sure help things along, (the one I use is a flip down) it's also on my wish list and Lincoln as it happens has one of the top rated helmets. The instructions with the Lincoln SP-140T are easy to follow and quite appreciated considering the consequences of not having clear directions. Not sure how a pro welder might rate this but it gets a definite 5 star thumbs up from this DIYer! I'll add more comments as my welding experiences progress. From my point of view you can't go wrong with this product or the Lincoln product line. ... show more

  • MIG it up!
What’s not to like? If you need a solid welder that can do thinner gauges.. including stainless steel and aluminum, it’s fantastic. Takes a little bit to get use to if you haven’t welded with MIG before but once you dial it in, it’s like butter. Love it.
