  • This little welder packs a punch
Style: Welder and Gun
I bought this flux core welder for working on 16 gauge hood vents . This welder is a bit too hot for 16 gauge. It works great on eighth inch steel . Quarter inch steel is a great thickness for this machine also. I have to say this is a great welder for the money . I have a service shop and I am really impressed. ... show more

  • Welds like a big one
Style: Welder and Gun
I put in .030 wire at first and I will tell you do not do this. The machine didn't work at all I was so disappointed I thought I got one crappy machine. So I went to the store when I ran out of wire and bought .035 and this thing worked incredibly. I welded 3/16 angle iron to 1/4 inch steel in my penetration was incredible. I've used several 110 volt welders, and this is the best so far. I wanted to give it one star so let everybody looking at the one-star features would read this. This is a great machine ... show more

  • Amazing value
Style: Welder and Gun
I’m a DIY type of person. If it’s broken I try to fix it and recently I had a few projects that if I had a welder and learned some simple welding I could make them better Bought this little guy and it works great It’s a 120v MIG welder and even with no gas it works great for small to medium projects around the house or if you are a handy man and need a portable welder that will last this is a good way to go! ... show more

  • Perfect Backpack FC Welder
Style: Welder and Gun
I bought this unit to use for repair and fabrication after my experience with the Hobart 140. That Hobart was like 57lbs so would put it on a cart, which at that point might as well put a gas bottle on it and run mig for an all around smoother weld but now it’s massive and unwieldy. This Century FC90 is the epitome of a backpack welder (but don’t run it in an actual backpack lol) Pros: -Very light weight (18lbs loaded) -120v so that means 3 prong wall outlets -Fairly smooth welding arc when running E71 by any reputable manufacturer like Hobart or Blue Demon ect. -Come out the box ready to rock .35 wire (wire not included) Cons: -The tensioner for the wire spool feels like it does pretty much nothing. Haven’t had it unwind tho just makes me nervous. -Duty cycle is not like a Hobart 140 where you can be going full power almost all day long. -Some might say the roller assembly feels cheap but not to the point of falling apart, just not like Miller or Lincoln strong where you could probably hit it with a hammer and it would still keep going. All around definitely worth the money! I’d say best use is for domestic repairs, light fabrication, and just a nice sortable Flux Core gun. Do keep in mind it cannot change over to gas like mig or dual shield. ... show more
